I'd imagine that hooking up an external 4-ohm speaker load (two 8-ohm 1x12" cabs) to the B200H head would yield a "louder" result as the speaker area would out measure that of the combo. But you may want to give the combo a try, because it really does sound pretty rockin'.

The B200 combo also has a series speaker output that lets you add an extension speaker of the impedance of your choice without danger of damaging the amp; the total power output to each speaker (internal and external) is reduced, but this is generally mitigated by the perceived volume you pick up from added speaker area (see posts #83 through #88 on page 3 of this same thread for technical details).



ALSO -- Listen up, sports fans -- exciting stuff was afoot as I briefly stopped by GC today and saw the B600H and B810 with my very own baby-green eyes -- gonna go back on Saturday and put it through its paces and I'll report back to you!!!

This ACOUSTIC Sports fan is all ears and curious to hear other opinions of the big B600H and B810 actually joined together as the Bass Gods intented. I look forward to your review. I hope they are still there when you go back, they are big but they move quickly:D and have not reached their strength in numbers yet. Although I was focused and in a mad dash when I copped my B600H :hyper::D I think my not trying out the B600H with the B810 I saw there was a subliminal self GAS protection mechanism that I didn't realize I even possesed until this moment. Damn Good thing in a way cause I'd be living on the street for sure had I brought the both of them home! :eek: :D I'll remain vicarious on that one....for now.:cool:

I have the combo and it seemed quite loud but when I compare it to my B200 with my two Avatar neo 210's the stack seems louder and fuller as it has 40" of speaker space and more cabinet depth.

The initial comparison was of the b200h w/ one cab vs. the combo. But, yeah it definitlatley would sound better w/ two.

So, yesterday at GC I walked into to rumble room and saw the B600+B810 in the corner and almost gave out a giddy little laugh to myself.:hyper: I only had time to mess around w/ the dream machine for about 10 or so minutes, but I can say that I may just stop paying for food until I can aford to get those two. It was absolutely beautiful. I used a Geddy J bass and dialed in a very growly low-fi tone that sounded like the B200 on steroids! All I can say is that it is awsome... Groin-grabbingly awsome!!!!! :p

I just wish gas didn't hurt so much.:D

Please can someone tell me about the new Acoustic amps?
I had a 370 running through 2 104 bottoms for bout 15 years never a problem and loved the sounds I could get.
Now I can never find an amp that I feel good playing through
How are the new Acoustics?

I've got mine right here, hooked up to my Schroeder 1212R and 15+.:

Sounds just amazing. I swore I would return it to GC if it didn't totally beat my Carvin B800, which at 2 ohms can also drive my speakers at full power.

Well, the Carvin's been seriously sonically stomped. I believe my "big rig" project is over; between this and my WalkAbout Scout, I don't see the need for anything else. Color me gas-free.

What you'll (and I) love is that B600H's mute switch activates a blinking red LED on the amp's face. In many years gigging there's been more than a few times when I've made a total douchebag of myself on stage by having my bass muted by my tuner when I was supposed to be striking the dramatic first note of a song... this blinking red LED will heretofore be dubbed my "anti-douchebag" indicator. :smug:

I bought my Acoustic 220 head back in 1979, and replaced the 15" speakers with EV's in my old peavey 2x15 cabinet, playing my 72 fender precision and 76 fender jazz bass through it. Tons of clean clear power! I still have the 220 head, but sold the Precision & Peavey cabinet back in 1990, due to an medical emergencie. I picked up another 220 head and 406 2x15 cabinet. I'm considering replacing the speakers, but the whole rig STILL ROCKS!

We are exploring some different cab, but nothing will probably happen in the short term. The B410 and B115 are both 8 Ohm cabs, so a pair of those in any configuration will get you there. Other option is to run two B810 cabs.:bassist:

LOL. "Anti-douchebag" indicator, I love it. :D I get that same prob all the time, not being there for that big, dramatic entrance.
