The Combo Club

I think G Doggy is calling you a waffler maybe Mike loll..errr btw I think its an English term for someone who gabbles on lolll Can't be our Mike..sounds more like MEEEEEE lolll

Nah, since The Dog's been playing through his Studio 40 he's been as gentle as a kitten. No, in this case, a waffler is one who can't keep a consistent point of view. For example, you love VOX, then Ampeg, then Fender, then some unknown brand that looks like junk. That's a waffler and I'm guilty as charged! But I have a solution for that. Check below!

My latest avatar and it's for a positive purpose, unlike those who just like to show off their gear in theirs. This is a used Ampeg B100 combo that is for sale at my local GC, in Davenport, IA. I saw it this weekend and it's in fair condition. Funny, I just mentioned on one of our past pages how much I'd like to own one of these because 1) I'd still like a fifteen, 2) it's got the cool vintage vibe, 3) it has a legendary rep of being one of Ampeg's best combos ever, and 4) Christmas is coming.

But I'm going to pass because I'd like one in better shape. I do think it should be purchased though, and so I'm going to keep it as my avatar until it finally finds a good home. Let's wish this kinda sad-looking good luck!

I was wondering if you had bought a new combo. As for selling your Vox combo, I'm not going to confirm or deny anything but only say "that's unfortunate" ...

French toast, Belgian waffles, muffins, strictly Off Limits on my plate. No syrup, no jam, no sweets, no hot or cold cereal.

Fruit, yogurt, toast, coffee works, with regional allowances. Swiss and Scandinavian breakfasts get top marks in my book. Full Irish breakfast ahahahahaha Well there's that. A real Denver omelette. Fried eggs and Italian sausage at The Copper Penny (where the wallet scene in Pulp Fiction was filmed). A fresh, hot soft pretzel at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. Scrapple and fried eggs in a coffee cup before we make sail from Annapolis (NOT my naval base!). Croissant and cappuccino in Milan. Hard boiled egg, a bit of cheese, a bit of butter and a roll in Munich.

See? Lots of great ̶c̶o̶m̶b̶o̶ ̶a̶m̶p̶s̶ breakfasts out there without waffles on my plate :D

Love the look of those. Yamaha .... ?

Ladies and gents, may I introduce to you our newest pledge to the Club, adjectives. He is now and forever will be known as our 173rd combo-lovin' member. May you and your Ampeg live long and prosper. Congrats!

With two additional members, I'll post the roster for one and all to see. Happy holidays! :woot:

Welcome, addy, to The Combo Club! Here's your official Combo Communicator pin for admission to all the most desirable parts of the Combo Clubhouse*, and for voice access to other members. Please be verbally considerate at all times, as the AI voice, Tal, is always listening for your command. It's a jolly good group here, so enjoy!

*The Clubhouse, as described on the Combo Club Wiki page, has everything you could ever possibly need or want, thanks to Fearless Leader's diplomatic and financial acumen. Rehearsal spaces abound, backline aplenty, even overnight accommodations if your band is in need. Ms. M's All Nite Cinema/Bistro & Laundromat remains the top draw, so make your reservations early. The Holodeck can put you onstage at any historical concert you choose, or make up your own supergroup of favorite musos. We're still working on the Teleporter, though. It has no problem handling your rig(s), large or small, so roadies aren't needed (though they're welcome), but organic matter has not yet passed all tests, so please be wary there. Make yourself at home! :)

. . . . I may have to buy a small Vox combo for portability sake, though ...

I got something coming my way ...

Not a Hofner. Something else. Folks could likely guess, but my lips are sealed until I can posts pics.

Ooo! Ooo! I bet I know! I bet I know! Ooo! Ooo!

. . . . I’m thinking about unloading the VOX combo amp myself. . . . If Doc wasn’t already doing the voodoo that he do, I’d offer it to him for an attractive price. Oh well... . . . .

Oh, you little devil, you! Yeah, it's unfortunate that you're not getting a killer, are-you-kidding, kind of deal for my combo because you went out and bought your own! Yeah, don't confirm or deny, but you're gonna have to come up for air sooner or later! Me thinks me thought up that crazy idea too late...darn!

Gee, I thought traveling around the world meant a weekend visit to IHOP...

Thank you. Sarge-at-arms. As always, the perfect concierge. May I add to that already fine menu of things to do t the CC, our latest and greatest, our VIP Private Lounge! Here, you will be wined and dined, allowed to play on a full stage with whatever rig your mind can create, and the opportunity to choose your bandmates...whether they're living or deceased. Yes, we're talking 3-D holograms that obey your every command and gently smile when you play a sour note.

Just last week I was jamming with Led Zep, including John Henry Bonham! John Paul Jones played keys so I was good to go. Used my Beatle bass and Superbeetle. Ah, completely drowned out, never heard a darn note. But did I have a fun time? Oh yes, I did! Probably not as tasty as one of M's breakfasts from around the world, literally, but Black Dog sounded HUGE. Again, I was virtually invisible, but it was a rush just the same.

Feel free to ask if you'd like to know the number of shekels you'll need to get in the lounge. Doc, I'll give you my Fearless Leader pass if you cough up your gear acquisition right this minute!

Oh btw EatS1st..I noticed you and you nic last year somewhere..probably the Rumble club and my mind's eye always sees your nic as East Street Bassist...like your from NY..a long way from South Cali loll..must be my Aussie eyesight plays tricks on me..lol Anyway it's nice to know ya like to nosh down first and have ya din dins before plunkin' ya bass lolll

Thanks Giff! I have been totally enjoying it! EatS1stbassist is short for Eddie and the Subtitles first bassist. 70’s Punkband
We would open for X and black flag would open for us. We are the band that wrote “American Society” and I am on the original recording (fast version).

Ahhhh - that's nice - fearless leader has some Charlie Brown in him!

bhendrix, you don't know the half of it. Picture our school gymnasium on Thursday lined with fancy Christmas trees, one from each classroom. Then, at the end of the row sits a one-foot tree with nothing on it but one ornament. It's bending over slightly, propped on two small blocks of wood, and has the worst looking branches imaginable. Guess whose tree? Yep, 5A's Charlie Brown tree which has been a part of our two separate winter music programs for years. So that image you posted IS the holiday season to me. Thank you!
