Hadn't thought of that. Good idea! The Acoustic combos don't seem to get talked about very much on TB, and I have to say, now that I've tried one, I'm puzzled as to why. I guess the current incarnation of Acoustic hasn't been around very long.
We'll see what I think in a couple months.

I absolutely love my B100C. Deep full rich tone. I tried two different rumbles, just didn’t work. Things that need a lot of EQ’ing all
Sound damn decent on it. I’m a fan of 12’s and I think it suits the amp well. It shares equal time with the Mesa and Quilter...the PJB is getting there
The Rumbles are so small and light; I do see the appeal of that. But tone-wise it's just no contest.
To be sure the rumbles have some great combos but they were just too boomy for me
I’m running a Peavey Max 110. It’s kind of a middle ground amp- weighs around 35lbs, has the ability to tilt, and seems to EQ really well. It also has a built in tuner. Fit and finish are good, and despite only having a 10” driver, handles low B notes with aplomb. It’s not as light as a rumble, but the tone is good.

The Rumble 25 and Ampeg BA-108v2 were the last two standing before I clicked through to payment and shipping. Neither were auditioned in a brick and mortar. In fact there was a fleeting moment of regret having picked the "wrong" practice amp when I completed the order.
What I see now is the 'Peg is the better choice for my needs because of both the kickback design and a volume control for Aux IN.
There's more than a few furlongs between my present recording arrangement and a reasonably good arrangement with the ProSonus USB box thing that just sits here with a Trace Elliot sticker waiting to be slapped on the top. What I'm thinking is record my video "recitals" via the VT Bass line out and the monitor's webcam. I'd monitor with headphones. The question mark I have now is how to get a metronome running so I can hear it and not record it.
My recording process now is with my cell phone. The metronome goes through the BA-108vs Plus headphone out to an earbud. It's as inelegant as possible. What it does is give me a record of my work. It's really instructional for me to prepare something and record it cleanly, then <shudder> have to look at it

My hats off to ya, SR, if you can do that. That’s the difference with my pics vs. #2’s shots. Mine would be up against a tidepool-colored wall and then I’d get irritated when people would complain they can’t see the bass!

SB, I’ll shoot ya a number as soon as I get to Command Central this afternoon. I’m headed to the dentist this morning so he can pilfer money from my wallet, and then, for some reason, my school wants me to begin working...in July? Promise though, you’ll be hearing from me later today or tonight!
Also looking forward to reading your thoughts on these two combos. I owned the 50-Watter and thought it lacked clarity; all the notes sounded the same to me, especially at lower volumes. Plus the weight difference made it less attractive to drag around to practices.

Very cool shot, Red. Hang in there with your D4. What I thought was thin at first became a lot fuller in time, and the detail in comparison to all my other amps is a warm ray of sunshine. When my ears need a little more accuracy I reach for the PJB!

Still love the process you go through, but am shocked the Presonus is still sitting in neutral. Get that baby in the system and start taking advantage of the ability to make a CD-quality recording of yourself. That’ll really ramp up your desire to perfect your skills or if you’re like me, you’ll ignore what you hear and get a kick out of hearing yourself jamming with The Beatles!
Hmm...still love the image but there’s something just plain weird about it. I don’t think I could play that bass and yet, it’s my bass. Is this what Bizzaro World is like? If so, are you now a lefty player, G’Dog? Cool! Wanna swap basses?
Oh I like the D4 a bunch, it sounds fantastic. I just have to get used to using it. The battery helps a lot, just plug and play
