I opted for the Ampeg 610 HLF, which does me well, and I like it. That being said, all hail the mighty Fridge! Might just compulsively buy one some day soon.

Just not practical for me right now. I'm getting on just fine with my 2x 210AV stack.

True, but if you have the vehicle to accommodate an 810, I find it easier to move in some ways given how squatty the 610 is by comparison.

When John Entwistle left Hiwatt for Sunn I think he would have sounded better with 3 or 4 SVT rigs. Back then it was recommended that two fridges go with each head so figure 6 to 8 fridges to keep the bass notes fresh!

Used to have the big ol' van, back when we were doing the "serious" heavy metal band thing. I used an Ampeg reflex 2x15 then, same size as the fridge but twice as deep. Monstrous cab. Monstrous tone.

Now I have a small Toyota Matrix hatchback and play 2-3 country gigs per month, with 2 rehearsals per week for other side projects, so mobility is key these days. If there ever was a situation where I could get away with an 810, it'd be provided by backline.

No horn. Sealed cab=low bass response that isn't my favorite.

I'm not a fan of sealed cabs. Not bashing them, just not my sound.

Same here. I've gigged them, and with bands that did as well.
Not for me.

I used to run an and have used more than a few. Turns out I could get more sound out of a lighter cabinet, so I sold the 810 and moved on. Not sad to see it go.

I love my 8x10. I am searching for an alternative. A much lighter one. I am hoping to equal the frig. But more sound? Whats your secret? I'm contemplating a Greenboy build.

I personally use three different greenboy cabs. DuallyT, 1515/66/1, F212. The DullyT and the '66 both meet or exceed an 810e.

While I tend to favor full range cabs, that Ampeg rig with a Rick will melt your face off!

My Fender Pro 8x10 is heavier than the Fridge by abour 40 lbs and each set of 10s has a port. 4 ports total. LOUD.

I have a 4x10 and 1x15 as well but I don't use them for most gigs.

Play through whatever you want. TB is stuck on this light weight trend if you can get your cab from A to B more power to you. I have both light weight and heavy cabs and enjoy both. I have both light weight and heavy weight basses and enjoy both. My problem is in the Pic the guitar cabs are mic'd and the bass cab is not.

Thomas Eich put a new pic up on FB. A new Eich Amplification 8x10 L Series. And if each 10 is a 300 watt like I suspect we're talking a lot of kick azz in one Cab.

Oh i got a direct line out. I guess they can't do that with guitar that uses distortion. I play clean. And yeah its a pain but my bandmates help with it and we have a trailer. When i bought it, my drummer picked it up with his van. My car won't hold it.

The presence and punch of the bass is so much better than before when i had a 15 and two 10s. Anyone else here a 810 fan? I will haul it on and off stage all day so long as it is on stage for the gig. I think an 810 takes one's band to the next level. Anyone agree? Disagree?

I played through an 8 X 10 Ampeg cab as part of an Ampeg backline once at a club. I didn't like the sound of it, personally. Of course... this wasn't my usual amp or cab, the room was a bit boomy in general and the gig was plagued with other technical issues as well, so that may have had something to do with the overall negative impression, too.

You have a '66!!?? I was gonna build one but opted for the 1212/6/1 instead and its more than enough for *any* situation(plus lighter than many 4x10's)... but I bet your 66' would be epic!!
