so, like i said, i will post my bass to.it's a Peavey, but the model, don't know it yet for sure.it looks like its a NTB4(like A.J.from peavey.com sayd, but he wasn't sure).i do know that it's an european model, so u wont find this over there :P...i just bought it some fender 7150 round...great strings, and i put it new tuners , Gotoh...i would like to change the pickups, to something newer, but seems like nothing fits....

it's passive, and sounds pretty great:)

Just acquired this 1985 rose (not pink :D) Foundation from the honorable Dr. Cheese. I gigged with it the first night I had it. Everyone loved it, including me. I bought a brand new sunburst one in 1984, and have always regretted selling it.

What a marvelous bass, it's a beat inside and out of the mix too!

I believe it is a "C4" which was sold in Europe before the "Grind" series was introduced Stateside.

Kim

well...i know more now about it...thanks...:) :D

cause i searched and didn't find anything about it....and, looks a bit like the Grind..but it's not a grind :D

well, i guess i found something....
yes, u're right it's the C4, but has nothing to do with the grind, but with the cirrus..it's inspired in the cirrus, made for Europe..
and yes the thing i know it's that the humbucker pickups are made custom for this model so.....i guess i can't find something else without modifieing the slot....and the bass is custom also, made from some tipes of wood ...one of them i guess it's the rose wood:)

strange bass....:ninja:

Well, here is my latest Peavey Bass. It's a Pre-91 TL-5, featuring the Super Ferite Pups. I wasn't sure I was going to like them, as I have had mixed results in a few lower-end Passive basses, but these REALLY do sound good. I found this on eBay for $450 delivered. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the Non-Stock Thumb rest that is epoxied to the body. I may leave it, but i play on the Neck Pup. XLNT player though. Action set to 1/4" at the 12th, and intonnation is dead on, with the exception of the "B". VERY Close though, slightly sharp at full adjustment.

DOOD! THAT'S THE BASS I SAW AT A LOCAL SHOP YESTERDAY!

Forget the model, how does it play?! I got MADDDD G.A.S FOR IT! :hyper:

and are the pickups not up to par that you want to swap 'em? :rollno:

edit: BTW, how much did it cost you? It's SGD890 (USD581.168 ) at the local shop. Reasonable price?

anyone on the pros and cons of a peavey grind 4 bxp as a second bass..first gigger for a relative novice? lol *shrug* i wont lie. i just picked up a bass last year and started hearing things out. getting better, so now it's time to get on with it and do some serious learning. that requires something far superior to a pawn shop bought raven with a chipped nut I figure lol.

well....actually it plays cool.it's passive, but sounds like an active...u can do whatever u want with it...it's cool.well i changed the strings cause it had stock ones.the pickups...well because are old, at least 5 years or so...but that's not the thing, the thing is that the potentiometers...are a little cheapy...i mean the quality...and the bridge..
about the sound, the thing that i really need to change is the bridge, the pickups are cool though,it's just a vice (to have it high end upgraded :P)it's not to heavy, the neck it's almost perfect....

it's cool , very....

well about the price....i dunno, i have it from a friend who has it from a friend , who had it from my uncle:D...so, but i guess it's around 400 euro...around 526.153 USD

the price, is way to cheap for what it does......way to cheap!!!!!!

So only the string and bridge need to be replaced? What bout the electronics? And I thought you said the pickups are hard to find? Who makes replacement pickups for this bass?
And what's a "potentiometer" :hiding: you mean the pots right?

Peavey makes some of the best bang for the buck basses EVER! IMO of course :D
