The Official Peavey Thread!!!!

I still have a Mark IV head with matching 2x15 Black Widow
cab that I drag out on occasion for the bigger blues rock
club gigs. With my P or J basses the rig really lays down
a serious tone with stage thumping booty.
As for Peavey basses I think they are very well made
and I was impressed with every single one I've had a chance
to play on for a bit. I don't know why some folks have to
slag on Peavey gear these days. Peavey is great gear
at a great price imo.

Forgot one other Peavey item I own in my post, a Peavey Unity 2002 16 channel mixer:

My primary bass is a '00 Cirrus 5 redwood finish.

Back in 2000 I was looking for a 'High-End' bass such as Smith or Sadowsky. A friend of mine let me use his Cirrus and I was blown away! Soon after I found one on the 'bay and it has been my main bass ever since. Ive never kept any bass over 2 years, but this one is my girl. Been playing 20 years and have owned over 25 basses, the Cirrus is the only one I have now and the only one I want....It is a thing of beauty.

Went into the studio two weekends ago to cut some songs for our new demo package, durning the playback (no eq on the board, just straight out) my tone sounded like God. Ive recorded several other times with the Cirrus and I dont know why it should surprise me, but it just does.

All I can say is that I love my Cirrus.

Ill try to post pics soon.

I use a monster Peavey 1820 and Classic 400 at my jam room. For home practicing and gigs I have a Peavey Mark III head and 115BW cab (I plan to use the 1820 for gigs, but won't until I get a better way to transport it...i have a small car).

All of my Peavey equipment was bought used (total of $900 for both heads and cabs) and abused and all of it works great with little to no issues. Will post pics soon when I redo them all in colored Duratex!

I have a Peavy Max head that is 800 Watts. I have 2 1516 cabinets that each have 1x15 and 2x8 speakers in them. Use one cabinet for small gigs, and 2 for large gigs.

Although it is heavy, it has been around for quite sometime and has paid for itself many times over. Very durable. It sounds great, especially when bi-amped with the effects going just through the 2 8" speakers. :D

There are a lot of rigs I would like to have, especially some of the smaller boutique rigs, but when you are loading out of a gig at 3am, sometimes you just aren't as careful as you would like to be.:rollno: I know the Peavy stuff will come ready to play everynight. :bassist:

Finally got a picture of my project T-40. Among its present shortcomings, the frets (which look to be at least a partial amateur refret at some point in the past) are not well seated and the lower ones are pretty worn. So, it's going to be the test subject for a fretwork class I'm taking. With new frets, leveled, crowned and polished, this thing will be a real burner.

I currently have a 1985 T40 that's awaiting a new jack, lower switch, (which I have both of those) and neck adjustment. Truss rod wrench will be available by peavey again around the 20th of this month.

My bro told me another t40 is at a pawn shop for 200, all it needs is that lower switch (which is the same thing my t40 needs, go fig) so I'm thinkin' about goin to pick it up. I have a carvin 2x10 cab that just isn't getting used so I'm gonna see if I can trade it. I'm gonna take a look at it tomorrow and try it out if it's still there.... :hyper:
