This thread made me curious, so I asked Jorg and he confirmed that my 610L will have the new Celestion neos.
Cleaner and more organic is how he describes them.

Jorg actually got in touch with me and said my 1212L would probably have the new drivers in it and told me how to tell without taking them out.

What a guy.

And yes, the next two days away will feel very long for me.

Do they still have the same power rating, I wonder? And to check out the speaker back, you need only to pop the back cover. You can see the speakers easily.

Got my 410l yesterday and tried it in rehearsal last night. First impressions:

Bloody hell it's loud!

I thought it would take a bit of running in before it started to open up a bit but from the off it was shaking things around in the room. Masses more bottom end compared to my other 2x12 and it's good bass, not loose flabby bottom but a real tight and deep low end. It was noticeably better by the end of the practice though, I think it's just the speakers starting to break in and loosen up a bit.

It did have a little rattle on the really low frequencies which I'll put down to a loose screw or bolt somewhere in the cab. The ass of a delivery driver dropped the box from waist height right in front of me grrrr! It should only be the matter of taking the grill and back plate off and tightening all the screws and bolts which should hopefully solve it.

What really impressed me and my band mates was how well it threw the sound out all around the room. It's projection was excellent and performed really well off axis (if that’s the best term to use??). You could walk round the cab and around the room and still clearly hear a great full bass tone. Cool!

The low sounded phatty, the mid's cut through in a natural way and the top end was fully controllable with the adjustable tweeter. This cab has the newer round tweeter type and it worked well in getting 'zing' into the tone without getting too hissy even in a room full of halogen lights.

What I can't get over is just how well it performs given the weight and size of the unit. It's really manageable to move around just on my own, I think most other conventional 4x10's I've moved before have made me not want to be a bassist! I really can't understand why anyone would want to buy a non neo cab these days, the tone is there for me and the advantages are truly great. I can actually move objects at a distance with my bass sound from a relatively tiny set-up. Wicked. Thanks Jorg.

Got a gig on Sunday in a notoriously nasty room and I should be able to take some pic's of the set up. I am a very happy customer.

With my UL212 i find it can move around on stage a bit. Depends on the stage and volume but its not unheard of for it to start to move around. I'll only have a SA450 on top of it. My 1210R doenst move at all. Nice and solid.
Now my question is seeing as the 1212L has rubber feet will this help prevent it form moving around? The 1212L is lighter than my UL212.

I love the LMII also and it paired with my 1210R is about as much as I ever need.

There have been several Neo-Pak's show up in the classifieds here with the 2ohm upgrade.

I'm not really sure how much it cost or if there is even a cost for it outside of shipping to Genz. You could PM "hasbeen" and ask him how much the upgrade would be.

Thanks man.My main rig is the LMII and a 1212L.Im with you-its usually all I need.I use the mini 12 for small gigs and I also have a 210212L for big shows.I love that setup but the 1212 is just right and so portable.Until last Christmas I used a Stewart 2.1 and Demeter.I picked up the LMII and the rack hasnt left the house since3.I actually have an F1 due to arrive any day.

Can i ask if you can tell you have the Celestions without opening up the box. Im not doubting Jorg's word but as mine is coming from a dealer in the UK and i guess they have had it a while i doubt it will have the new drivers in it (and not bothered either way) but it would be nice to know and i dont really want to take it apart just for this.

mine is due tomorrow (friday) but as im away gigging i wont get to see it until sunday. Its going to be a long weekend

Cant tell.I would e-mail Jorg and ask what you are getting.Im not sure how long Jorg has been using the Celestions.But honestly I was happy with my older cab and I got plenty of compliments on my sound.This move was pure curisoty and gas.And as tireless as he is I promise he will continue to try new things to ever improve his cabs.I wouldnt sweat it either way.Any way to try it on a gig???

Yup,same power rating.And great point.Just pop the back off.As per our convo Ill have a great idea of the comparison from the older one I had and the new one after this weekend.So far I dont hear miles of difference but the new one sounds a bit more open.The older one seemed a tad bit punchier but again,Jorg tells me to give it a good 2 week break in period and Ive had this one less than a week and have not giged with it yet.

I think its more because my UL212 has plastic corners its prone to moving on a smooth stage. I did put rubber feet on my old UL115 at one point because of this and it did help a bit.

Im getting really excited now. my LMII +1210R has done so many gigs where its been just right out front. we very rarely use PA support other than our vocal PA and while my rig can sound too loud on stage its always sits in the mix just right. Having something thats around 30% lighter to carry in is going to be fantastic and having the 2x12 should give me a rounder sound that just has to sound even better.

I have had no problems with my set up, even playing to 200+ in a marquee but i notice some of you say you use the bigger cabs for the bigger gigs and im wondering what size these are.

Well things being as they are I was able to pick up a 1212L and a 21012L from members here the board.The 1212L arrived today and I am STUNNED! I ran it with my Firebass and almost fell over! I just had to A/B it with my Ampeg 610 just to get a grasp of the sound coming out of this thing! How can Jorge get this kind of volume and clarity out of this tiny box?! Honestly,the 610 has been demoted to the warehouse,I get the volume and more clarity with this box.OMG,I'm gonna wet my pants when I'm able to run the 2 cabs together.Schroeder Rules!!!! Hey Guys.

Cab arrived and it does have the new drivers in it.

Only tried it at work on about 3 on the master with my Jazz but its very loud. Cant tell if its a punchy as my 1210R but boy is it lighter and better looking.

Cab arrived and it doe shave the new drivers in it.
But, Ive just plugged the 1212L in and im getting a rasping noise over (or under) a lot of the notes on anything over about 1 on my SA450 and LMII master.
Ive tried the usual different leads etc.
Seems to be around the low G-A and also the upper ones.
Ive tightened up every screw i could find and have run it with both the front and back off. Ive made sure there are no wires touching the driver cones as well.

Any ideas what else i could try. This is very disappointing.

Turn the tweeter OFF and see if it still does it. If it does, take the front grille off and see if there is any resistance when you gently move the cone with your hand, evenly as possible. If you get a feeling like you just hit a couple grains of table salt, it's a coil. Jorg will ship you a replacement, most likely. The coil might have been jostled during shipping.

If it disappears when the tweet is off, it may be the horn, which is easier and cheaper to replace. Either way, you should be covered under warranty.

I did in fact edit my original post minutes after posting the above because i managed to sort it out.
It was in fact a short black wire touching one of the driver cones. Because i was in a darkish room i didn't see it until after i posted here. Up to that point i had already done all of the above (including PM'ing Jorg who replied very quickly), tightened all the screws, run the cab with both grill and back off and isolated each driver.
I had a bad experience with my UL212 when i first got it that i must admit to being paranoid as i opened the box but i have a lot more confidence in both Jorg and the dealer compared to the debacle of getting my UL212 fixed (had to put two new drivers in myself within the first month)

After playing it for a very short time i do find its very close to my 1210R but i know that ill need to play a few gigs before i get the best from it. Certainly its not as deep as my UL212 but as someone already pointed out, it doesn't have muddy lows like my UL can produce and it has a lot more kick to it compared to the UL212.
And i still cant get over how light it is compared to my 1210R.
