Everywhere I've looked, ZZounds, Musician's Friend, GC, American Musical, Amazon, Reverb, but Sweetwater, the blue has more luminance to it, it almost glows. It's absolutely stunning in everyone else's pics.

Wonder what Sweetwater did to their pics?

Either way it's a great looking bass. And I bet the playability and sound are off the charts too, especially with the Nordstrand pickups.

Those are Nordstrand Big Singles.

Sweetwater takes REAL photos of the actual item & the others are using doctored stock photos.
Here's the photo I posted above, they do look great for real!

TBH I wish I'd grabbed one of those Anniversary editions (on the right), but in a 4-string.
They've got the Mono-Rail V bridge & mine is IV.
(no, it's the version, not based on how many strings)

Even your pic the blue just looks brighter to me. I could stare at it for hours. Now I will say this, when I bought my Ibanez from SW back in August, they sent me pics and it looked just like the pics they sent. I even got to see the pics for 4 of the same bass and pick which serial number I wanted. Dammit, I want another Ibanez. Now if I can just figure out how to justify buying one. They offer some of the best finishes around.

For my next Ibanez I really want the Ibanez Bass Workshop Multi Scale SRMS800. I'm a little hesitant though because of the Bartolini BH2 Humbuckers it comes with. I would much rather get one with Nordstrand pickups.

the white reflectors that sweetwater is using in the studio are showing up as glare on the surface of the body and diminishing the color. that is why sweetwater pics dont look as bright a blue.

I love that blue finish on the left. I like the Big Singles but I like the Norstrand PJ pickup configuration better. So sound over aesthetics - just.

Played the Anniversary Edition and it sounded good but I didn't think it balanced as comfortably with the lighter bridge end of the body. Perhaps it may have been improved with a set of Res-O-Lite tuners but seemed to have more neck dive than the other Ibbys I tried, and I ended up putting a set on my SR755NTF which already wasn't as bad.

It's odd that they put the BH2 in the higher end (Sub-Premium) stuff, because the MK1 sounds as good or better. The MK1 is a split-coil (reverse P), so probably wouldn't be as dark.

I've tried the BTBs with the BH2 & I don't like them.
Too bad, there was a 7-1/2 lb. BTB740 with Stainless frets on Sweetwater's site not long ago.
I was "this" close to buying, but was turned off by the BH2 & the lack of a active/passive switch like the SR have.

Changing the subject. There's a lot of talk about Ibanez and their Sound Gear line of bass guitars. I'm curious, what do players think about their Talman Series basses? I've been looking at the new TBM 600. And with the Nordstrand CND P & J pups in it, I think it will give Fender a run for their money in the medium price ranged bass guitar market. Then again if I wanted a bass that has a Fender look to it, I'd just go buy a Fender.
