Do many of y'all shim the necks on your SR's

My 505 could use a good shim.
Either that, or take the bridge iff, sand down that wood, then reinstall the bridge

I almost needed to shim my SR1800E, but instead I mashed the monorail saddle down while tightening the screws & Voila:

You can see the difference in height between the E & A saddles. (from edge of bridge to body)
Yes, I cranked down the other saddles as well, after taking this photo.

The SR300E neck start appear less stable in minor temperature changing condition. My both Squier pbass neck has no such problem.

Any solutions ?

Get a new neck or get a whole new bass. Unfortunately that seems to be the norm with those.
I had a SR300EB at the beginning of Summer & sold it at the end of Summer for that reason.

There are differemces in the quality between 300, 400, and 500+ series by Ibby.
500 or above will make you happy.

My 505 has kept me happy in the studio and on stage for almost 10 yrs now. The neck is great and tuning is very stable unless there's a big humidity change. But even then, usually just retuning the strings works and wont need a neck adjustment.

Ive seen a lot of people put off from the whole SR line because they only were exposed to the 300 series and never tried a higher series.
And there's an even bigger jump in quality when going to the Premium or Prestige series.

Agree, my previous MIK SR705 neck are absolutely solid and stable.

Before I decide to sell the sr300E, maybe I will try apply super glue coat plus poly spray on the neck. If the CA coat could make the neck stable, I will keep the SR300E because the stock pup sound better than Bart MK1 to me.

I just returned a SR600, because it had a really flimsy neck. That was a walnut/jatoba neck.
