I'm afraid there's still no ETA on these models, but we're working at getting the whole line available in the US.
I hope to know more within the next 6 weeks, feel free to check in with me around then.

Little Mark 250 head into a 4 ohm Schroeder regular 12" cab. You can just see the side of my Fender P-bass Lyte.

An all round lightweight, beautifully toned setup which always delivers amazing tone and clarity. Everyone always comments on my sound. Really portable too. :bassist:

Ooookay... I just found out about the R500. Nice watts, nice price, nice specs, not so nice GAS.

The tech details and the spartan outlook scream "Rock" (which was also confirmed by Mr. Bowlus, whose name I keep reading: BowPlus). Are we talking the classic "A*P*G-like" rock tone, or something different? How much OD can the head produce?

And after reading this thread I gather that the Tube-pre is the same that the Classic 300 has. Can't find any info about it though. The Markbass site says about the Classic: "Custom power and preamp tubes (10 in total)". How many in the Pre? What tubes?

The Classic 300 has two ECC83 tubes, two ECC99 tubes, and six KT88 tubes. All made by JJ Electronics.

I had my first gig with the LMII on Sat. I have used it in the studio and at home already but this was the first time live.
I cant believe i forgot that the XLR on the front is an input. I tried hooking the amp up via the front XLR. Even tried different leads. I ended up using the tuner out. I didnt even think about the XLR on the back (and i have already used it). and i cant believe i didnt even see it.
Must have been one of those nights.:rollno:

I was not able to really crank it at NAMM, but from what I recall, and at the levels I did play it, the R 500 was not getting super fuzzy and overdriven, but rather, you could dial in a decent amount of tube warmth, or all the way up to some added grit/growl/grind, but not 'super overdriven', if that makes any sense. It's 'clean rock' tone was to die for, and I felt more at home tweaking its tone stack than I did on the other Markbass heads - which was due in large part to me not being as used to their tone control layout; now that I have an LMII and an SD800, I am quite comfortable on them both).

For my personal preferences, the R 500 and Classic 300 were the darlings of the NAMM show (but I am very happy with my other current Markbass heads, as well!).

Thanks, the bolded section was just the thing I wanted to hear (or read). :)

A slight grit is exactly what I'm looking for in a head, over the top distortions/OD's I will leave to different pedals. I most definitely have to go and test the R500 ASAP.
