Thunderbird Club

I know those particular ones quite well.
One band i was in had their own PA, some of which consisted of those very A7's.
The group I was in 70-72 had 4 A7s. When we broke up, I got 2. Used for my home stereo 'til we got the Miami Beach hotel gig. Used them there for 2 years then sold them to the hotel.

Unrelated.... I have a nephew and niece who are Chemical Engineers. Both work for the military/NASA. The nephews first job was designing/redesigning diapers for astronauts. Wasn't what he thought his first job was going to involve. He's a supervisor now. So he either did really well or they needed to move him to something less important!
…or they figured he was really good at managing Sh**:roflmao:

I know a lot of Chem Es that start at P&G making Pampers :roflmao:

I started out designing PM programs for heavy equipment. Loved working in underground coal mines :bawl:
LOL - I started out designing Nuclear Power Plants for GE, left that company and started designing Gasohol Plants, soon after I left that company for P&G designing Toilet Goods Plants (shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, mouthwash…).

If you still have any contacts in micro nuclear, I’m working on a funding white paper on energy production costs. Green ain’t so green when you look at the entire supply chain.

I did a little bit of work with P&G in Cincinnati; we sold software they used for editing and documenting PC programs on the factory floor. Getting to see the lines up close and personal was kind of cool.

Never say that Gene Simmons doesn't have a sense of humor, that clip is hysterical!

Have to say, never a fan of KISS or GS... but the retro vibe of this promo is perfect, if not nauseating. I unfortunately had to live through this period... :rollno:

Not only is Green not so green, it’s rarely even black and is frequently red.

Unfortunately, I’ve been out of the Power Plant field long enough now I don’t think I have any serious engineering contacts left. But at the end of the day, if you can find a way to spin a turbine nonstop 24/7/365 then you’re half way there. The other half of the picture is minimizing the by product or finding a good use for it.

I would think Micro would offer some interesting advantages by being more localized, less capital intensive and having less transmission losses in the distribution systems. It’s an interesting time to be in the Energy business as long as you can successfully navigate through the politics and special interests.

Until Gibson comes up with an acoustic Thunderbird I’ll need an electric outlet to plug my amp into, so hats off to you good sir for thinking out of the box on power generation improvements for the future!

Chances are you and I worked on many of the same projects. The last 15 years I worked there I reported up through the IT branch of the company (in the Facilities division) leading the global R&D facilities and Process Equipment Design departments and the HS&E and GMP functions for all Pilot Plant and R&D testing operations around the globe. Most of the IT solutions we incorporated at the manufacturing level were frequently tested at the Pilot Plant scale then rolled out to the plants.

I haven't knowingly tried them, but think they were on the NR I just got (D'Add Steels according to the seller). I've yet to find anything from D'Add I like, but it's honestly been years and different rigs ago that I tried them. Whatever they were on the NR they kind of disappeared in a live setting and had no mid punch.

I noticed that the slight mid scoop the Pro Steels had as new isn't as prominent now. I have so much low-mid in my sound anyway so the slight scoop doesn't do any harm.

I also did "the opposite" and slightly lowered the pickups. Gives more headroom to my Broughton SV-Pre preamp so it isn't overdriven at the lowest gain settings. My non-reverse have lower output pickups and not it matches that better.

Decent price so long as the crack isn’t structural. I’d check it out but have no plans to go up to Sacto any time soon (even though I have an office there). It would look great with a Pat Wilkins Pelham Blue finish job.

Let me know if you're coming up to your office on a weekend ;)

You can hear how it sounds though an 80's Peavey amp...
