Bummer. Had you paid for the 56 point inspection it would have been caught.Hi All! According to my luthier - and my comprehension - a ground wire connected to the neck pup had fried insulation and from where it was it was causing the neck pup to continue to emit a signal. His explanation was a little over my head but I guess at the end of the day the install was faulty and the 55-point inspection from the supplier did not catch it.
Lots to do in the SF area. Alcatraz is very cool, spend the extra money for the self guided audio tour. If you like outdoor nature type stuff you could spend an entire day in Golden Gate State Park (Japanese Tea Gardens, Flower Conservatory, Butterfly exhibit…). A taxi ride through Haight/Ashbury or down Lombard street is cool just to say you’ve been there. A trip to SF probably isn’t complete without a quick run through the Warf area, eat at the Hard Rock and check out the rock memorabilia.Good morning Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. Third gig this past Saturday with the middle eastern/Spanish band. Definitely feeling more comfortable with the music. Played the new NR and was again very pleased with the sound. Used the same little Ashdown and 2X10 cab. Just bought a 15" Schroeder cab from the TB classifieds. Looking forward to trying it out when it arrives.
Leaving for San Francisco in the morning for a conference. There until Sunday, and will have a bit of time to be a tourist. Wondering if anyone knows any great music shops, clubs with live music or other places they would recommend. I believe the Giants are in town, a good friend recommended taking the Sausalito ferry as an outing, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Happy Independence Day everyone.
Who's passed out on the floor next to Jeff?Chucky’s Saturday gig with just one of his many bands. They’re really good.

I really enjoyed meeting everyone. What a great group of people. And we made some thunderous noise. Oh. And Lull’s are the real deal. We’ll have to plan another best coast get together and hope more of you can make it.
One of the groupies just enjoying the sun. I didn’t pass out until late into the evening.Who's passed out on the floor next to Jeff?

I could probably get louder with different cabs, but I can’t see a situation where I would need to.Andy says he designs the Subway heads to be used with diverse cabinets and that getting a new head shouldn’t mean you have to buy new cabs.
Fantastic looking Fender based bass creation by @JIO
Inquiring minds want to know what the control layout is.
I never notice the fan in the TT800 at any volume. I wonder why the one in an 800+ would be louder. It could just be my lousy hearing.I could probably get louder with different cabs, but I can’t see a situation where I would need to.
The only issue I have with the D800+ is the fan noise when I’m playing at home. I also realize a 6 pound 800 watt head is going to need a fan. And I have a PF50T.
A Short note to start with as I need a nap!
I want to express my most sincere thanks to our host Chucky Stiletti and his lovely wife Rosa.
Theu opened up their lovely home to all of us, we had a ready place to try out all the wonderful basses - A fantastic lunch of Tacos made just for by Rosa.
Frank and just completed what has to a record trip between Capitola, CA and Des Moines, WA, 855.1 Miles in 12hours 25 minutes, we left at 2:40AM (3 hours sleep) and arrive back in out beloved Washington at 3:05PM
It's an amazing, wonderful thing to be drawn together by our love for these iconic, lovable, idiosyncratic basses, I'm still a bit in wonderment over it, I will post some pics later
For now, thank you again Chucky and course all that could be there.
Best. Club. Ever!

Great pics! Love seeing all the faces with names, especially the smiling ones. I see you managed to get the gratuitous fuzzy slippers in one of the pictures so Willie would feel right at home. I’m a little concerned about the body on the floor but assume you were using the “no blood, no foul” rules. Can’t wait to see the rest of the pics. Wish I could have been there.Chucky’s Saturday gig with just one of his many bands. They’re really good.

Very sweet!Started its life as an '06 '51 P RI bought new in '06 - stripped the toxic (poly-epoxy) mustard colour off (very difficult) bided the top, did a 'downtown brown' trans finish, routed for G&L L-2000 pu's & 9v pre, added jumbo string through ferrules (like on the real '51 P), Hipshot string-thru bridge, brass nut, custom-cut pg, custom lollypop tuners, 3 G&L position strap-pegs, Dunlop Strap-Loks, 2 on the bottom so it stands upright against an amp. That was gen 1 ... I had Mart Bell refinish it in piano black and trans brown. (similar to gen 1 finish) I also sprayed the hs face to match the binding (creme) and added a late '60s Fender Telecaster Bass decal. I call it the T2K Mk II. (Tele 2000, second iteration)
