The house next door has been empty for years (owned by offshore people) and a few months ago I noticed one of the house numbers had broken and fell off. So some couriers delivering to our house see 3 correct digits, stop looking and drop the package at the front door…
I can’t get through to the owner, so today I drew a 5 on a piece of cardboard, stuck it in a baggie and screwed it in place.

Very welcome. The Low Tensions are more mello and bigger sounding to my ear, but not dull. No doubt due to the round core--yet they are not floppy. They are the smoothest flat I think I've ever tried.

Have you tried any other tapes to compare with? I've not known any one to use those.

I completely understand. Once I hit on a string/bass combination that approaches magic, I hardly ever try another set.

Why I have stuck with EBCFs on mine.

I follow the EBCF instructions with all strings now. Seems to work well.
So far.

They just made sense to me. Sans poking the end of the string into a hole, that was how I always wrapped guitar strings on split pegs.

You’re welcome. I went through he same exact process to find a case for the vp and ended with the epi case too.

About the EBCF, I like them a lot but as i was playing with a light gauge (0,95) and wanted to try something with a bit more tension, i tryed the 105 gauge but my D string broke as soon as i tuned it, between the pole and the nut…. :/

Eventually The local distributor of eb should send me a new string but it’s not garanteed yet as i bought it from Germany.. I should have stayed in Benelux to avoid trouble, how could i knew it?

A 0 gauge string?!?!?! Sinclair monofilament? That will shred your fingers quicker than a Babicz bridge and a windmill!!

I'll unequivocally state that strings, like a saddle on a bicycle, are the #1 most subjective element of a guitar/bass. Luckily there are numerous choices out there.

Well, I dug out the "Rockbass" gig bag. Kinda skimpy on protection. Might be OK to take the 67 to the shop(last time I used the bag), but not to a gig. Then I dug out the keyboard case(yeah, I still have it). It's more unwieldy than the Coffin(TM) case. So. Back to the effing drawing board.

I've found carriers for USPS are the most conscientious. And they're not perfect - any carrier delivering gazillions of packages over many years will have issues along the way - but FedEx & UPS seem to be in competition to see who is worse.

I think it varies by distribution center, based on reports from a lot of people I know all over the place. So FE could be great here and horrid there, whereas UPS might be the opposite.

That brand of strings is horribly overpriced IMHO

Pricier than some, cheaper than others. But they sound great, last and last, feel great to my fingers, and torture those with princess fingers. I have no need of anything else.

True enough, but as someone who ships guitar-related packages a lot over the last 10 yrs - I've had to make insurance claims with FedEx and UPS - but never with USPS.

It wouldn't be too difficult; E, B (up from A), C (down from D) and F (down from G) ... Pat Methany and/or Micheal Manring probably have written pieces in that tuning...

My last driving(18 wheelers)gig was for a contract carrier for USPS. Considering the incredible amount of [stuff] they handle daily, they do a dang good job of getting [stuff] moved in a timely manner. And cheaper than either FedMess or Buster Brown.
