I notice if I wear pantyhose I look younger. Makes be look like I've had a face lift. Makes wearing glasses somewhat a challenge and tellers act weird.

You have 7ender Jazz that sounds decent? Does it still honk or do the SITs really make it sound decent?

I had a similar experience with the SIT Power Steels on a bass I play once in awhile too.

Yes it does. I'm actually very happy with it and was looking forward to playing it again, and it didn't disappoint. That was the '62, the '71 has SIT Power Steels and I'm really happy with that as well. So much so, if I try another string is will be some version of SIT, but I think I'm happy as is. The '62 had a nice thick sound like Mike Levine of the best band from Canada. No honk! Which was something I had be fighting to some degree for years with any round wound.

I usually use La Bella DTB.

I have not tried those on a reverse--they did sound pretty good on the NR.

I love the RS66 as well. One thing I always wondered that maybe you can answer. Why is the A string an 80 and not 85?

My project for this morning has been to finally, after months (at least....), getting around to re-assembling my "Iron Man" bass (made from a box of scraps ).

It's a total PoS, some of you my remember it from when it had a broken-off headstock.....

Weirdly, after plenty of adjustments and a neck shim, it doesn't play too bad. For having a complete neck.
Sounds surprisingly okay-ish through the big Peavey, kinda has a bit of an 80s metal vibe.....imo what should be expected from anything with an Explorer shape










.....but still, total junk. Putting it in with a pile of firewood would de-value the firewood

Sell it then, at least you'd get some of the investment back, no?

I buy RS66LF, they're 45, 65, 85, 105. I never realized they weren't the standard set until I just looked them up now.

Hey everyone! Just back from my trip and am not going to dig thru 30 pages to catch up. Did I miss anything while I was gone? I expect the usual planes, trains, and automobile discussions with some T-Bird action thrown in for good measure?

I did come home to a new-to-me lovely Bird. May I introduce the lovely Cataldo Bass #55.

That looks beautiful! I’m sure it sounds equally good.
I’d love to know where he sourced that bridge. The adjustable saddle height is something very handy when using a Fender neck. All the two piece vintage looking bird bridges I could find were set up for a Gibby neck radius and not adjustable on the individual strings.
