Thunderbird Club

Tube amps seem more like organic systems, living creatures than electronic pathways and components. I have that monster Fender Bassman thing/Tubezilla, and sometimes I want to get rid of it. But that one's more like half organic and half cyborg... It's the Robot Chicken of tube amps, lol.
Tube amp techs have a whole other gig going on. I salute you, Chuck!
And I salute the guy who just fixed Tubezilla...
kind words, thx Rog, glad to hear you got yours sorted….what was it? curious…..

can’t win them all…..:banghead:
the one that “should be a breeze and go quick”……will fight you till the end…just as I get the preamp done and revisit the power amp (had already tested ok) with a brand new set of EL-34s a friggin Bumblebee .1 decides to go leaky and takes out one of the brand new EL-34s……aaarrggghh….
oh well…..:bawl:

Ok. Installed the 50-105 EBCFs. Feels, sounds like I want it to.:bassist::hyper: Still tweaking* the knobs; actually using more bridge pup than I thought I would. Not a lot, but I can definitely get 'clank' if I wanna. I'm not gonna bother with another pic since ya wouldn't be able to see the purple silks-which is where the tone is.;)

*not twerking:rollno:
Glad it seems like it's going to be a good fit in So FL.

Also clad you clarified you were not twerking. But if you ever do, please leave the flip phone in your pocket, waistband, strap or whatever you happen to have on.

But if the police pull you over or question you, apparently that's the thing to do on top of the car.

Some of you have me curious about a touch of breakup (not fuzz). I really like the sound of the EBS Valve Drive as it's very natural sounding. Found a used one for around $250. But I've got almost $100 at Sweetwater from selling a phaser I didn't need that I'd like to get rid of.
Among a few reasonably priced pedals, this on the overdrive setting doesn't seem too bad. I guess I'm thinking of warm and creamy not raspy or harsh in any way. In fact, I don't think I really want it very noticeable. There and filling in some spaces, but definitely not in your face.

Or Boss. That’s become the annoying in greeting in stores around here.

I'm a bit old-fashionned, I'm afraid.... I'm trying to keep up and Lord knows my kids are helpful, but stuff like Boss, Chief, Captain... I can't help being turned off. On the other hand, Man, Dude, Bro, I'm OK.

The ultimate thrill is when I'm approached by someone going Hi, welcome to our store, I'm Andrea, how can I help you ? Wether I'm purchasing or not, I'll most likely congratulate or thank the person on the way he/she approached me. Last person I did that to replied something like my mum always said the proper way to get to know someone is to introduce yourself, so I do that. That's not the way they coach us here, but I do it anyway. She could not have been more than 25.

Now I'll go and find someone to scream at to get off my lawn...

This track has a great overdriven bass sound. Players aren't too shabby either. Those damn Swedes again:

I'm getting the MojoMojo pedal today. There will be clips I promise.

One thing I don't like about drive pedals that have a blend is that the clean sound is sometimes too separate sounding. I mean when I have the overdrive on my playing touch is different (mostly more aggressive) and that doesn't necessarily work with the clean sound audible. Depends on a pedal of course.
