Is the head you plan to use an all tube? If so, what’s the power? I have a V4 head and V4 cab that I loaded with Eminence BP122’s and I do like it. Last time I played it live it sat good in the mix with my band that plays in Eb and D standard, with two guitars. If anything I could say maybe I’d like to get a little more low end, but that could have more to do with only having a 100w head. I really want to make it lighter, and also, I want it to be 4 ohms, so I could have the option of using my old SVT with it. I’d love to be able to get those BassLites in a 16 or 4 ohm version. Not that long ago, Eminence would do that for you, but I think that was another COVID casualty.

I’d love to hear what you think after your show!

I don't remember that one. I probably was aware of it at the time, but sure don't need two originals and a Grexa reissue.

Which SVT do you have, You’ve probably mentioned it but of course I forget.

I need a 360 rig. It’ll be perfect for the music room/man cave in the basement at the mountain house. Which fortunately has it’s own entrance. If anyone from the Bay Area/Saco to the Mexican border hears of one for sale, keep me in mind.

Very cool color, looks like it matches the 2013 gold anniversary thunderbird finish. Would also look awesome on stage with both the guitarist and bassist rocking birds.

No affiliation to seller, just doing my fair share of enabling.

…and of course that stage wouldn’t be complete without this…

IIRC the SVT VR was biased on the SVT Blue Line amp from the early 1970’s and is a very faithful reproduction. This is probably the best SVT comparison video out there for those of you that might be Ampeg curious…

(Although I do wish he had run them all through the same cab).

Yeah, I plan on using it with the Hiwatt DR103 and the Sunn 2000s. I'll probably use it with the 360 and 370 too at some point. So all about 200w or less, and I believe the S2012 handles 150w, so the cab should be able to take 600w total, far more than I'll ever put through it. Testing again at a louder volume, it has more than enough low end, I'll be dialing the bass back a little as my sound is more mid and high heavy than low leaning. The highs are a little...maybe brittle is the right word compared to the JBLs, which I find to have strong top end without sounding harsh. The hi-mids and highs still have a solidness to them the Basslites don't quite seem to get, but it might just take more EQ testing to dial that in. I'll do more of a report post-gig once it really gets to stretch out.

Never did quite understand the SVTs 2 and 4 ohm options without an 8. But maybe that's just because all my valve heads have only ever had 4, 8 and 16 ohm options. It would seem to me 2, 4, and 8 would be ideal on an SVT, which is I think what the V4 offers.
