The club threads are usually your safest bet when venturing away from here. Although George said there are some snarky people in the Warwick Club. There are a lot of nice folks in the Mesa Club and Bergantino Club threads and related sub threads.
Pre ‘74s were fun cars. My brother had a ‘70 (I think) for a couple years in the early eighties. It was kind of used by the time he owned it. He spent a lot of time working on it. Seemed like there was always something he was messing with.
I need another T-Bird like I need a hole in my..well you know.
I made the guy an offer on a hardly played Classic Pro.
I was really looking for another VP to refinish in blue but the enablers here raised the antennas up for one of these.
It just happens to be across the river from where I keep our boat.
I left the door open for him if someone comes forward with his asking price. He says it’s on hold for me to pick up this coming weekend.
It’s pretty much in unplayed condition with the exception of a small headstock ding that I can’t see.
Fingers crossed to see if this one has the clout that everyone seems to think it does. And I do trust the opinions of the great enablers here at the TB club.

I believe I saw a set on Reverb or the bay the other day. The ask was pretty high though so I didn’t pay much attention to the ad.

And it’s a marvelous Thunderbird. Nice metallic Pelham Blue. I intend to complete the set one day if I can find them; Ebony and Alpine White.
So, even though that's a 2012, it looks like it's got the elusive 2013 pick up spacing.
So maybe the '12's started with that spacing, or a transition year type thing.
Nice score if it comes through. Very close to a modern Gibson. Same Tbird Plus pickups. 7 Ply versus a 9 ply neckthru and a poly instead of a nitro finish are the main differences. At a third or less the cost of a Gibson.
I'm working on both. For church, 80-90% of what I play works best with fingers. For anything else, it's probably more like 50% each.
I use a drill press to drill a hole (or occasionally tree smaller ones) in my picks. Helps a lot! You can buy some brands with holes already in them, too.

Afaik, (model year) 2013 was the first year for the CP, and seems to be the only year with the same pickup spacing as the VP, very similar to the original T-birds.

I used one years ago to even out the notes, especially on basses with deadish spots or single coil pickups that were not at adjustable as say a Pbass. I still have it, but don't see a need for it these days.
There would be latency issues in terms of hairpinning the traffic.
Mine's better
Would be nice to listen to sippin' some Billy Beer to get the full effect.
I ask a question (very rarely) in the GP if I can't avoid it. Some are great, others see it as a place to show off what they think they know as they look for someone to be a target for their arrogance and gotcha answers. It's one of the many things I love about this club. I don't worry about asking what might be a foolish or (you should know that to others) question here because everyone is treated with respect and there is a sincere desire to be helpful. Everyone was more than tolerant and always tried to be helpful when I could not get my '06 to sound good to my ears. I would have been burned at the stake for sport elsewhere in the GP. The people are without a cut above. I do wish Willy would get some shoes, but this isn't a perfect world.

She doesn’t know it yet but I’m eyeing a nice Aston Martin Vantage to replace her Boxster.
Why not paint it like you were planning on doing to a VP?
BTW - the CP you’ve selected has pretty much the same pickup spacing as the VP -but- it has the darker sounding Gibby Tbird+ pups. That’s a wonderful combination. If it turns out to not be your thing, ping me and I’ll take it off your hands.
A lot of folks around here like the Eppi Casady bass as well.

Not only is that an Eppi CP, but it’s one of the very limited run magic CP’s that are so highly regarded around here. The one year that had unique pickup locations for an even better sound. Jump on it quick before someone else does.
Some day, Scott’s roadie and hobby bass player Geddy will learn to use a pick. When that happens he might even hit the big time, until then he’ll be pretty limited in what he can do on a bass.
If it’s a 2013 CP, make the impulsive purchase! Well worth that money and hundreds more.
No idea on what the outcome of her stupidity was, she slammed the phone down on me after I asked if the AMX got totaled and if the other driver got hurt, but didn’t ask her if she was ok.
Actually the Warwick Club is a pretty cool place, not nearly as active as here but most everyone on it is very cool. There just happened to be a couple of strong opposing opinions on what to wax your wood with. A lot of the Warwick basses utilize just wax as a wood finish. So to keep the wood healthy and in top condition it needs to be treated a couple times a year at least (unless you have a stained or painted and sealed finish). I personally use the wax Warwick sells, which ain’t cheap and can be hard to get at times.
