Funny how that worked. There was a girl involved in getting me to shave off the 'stache. I felt naked without it, but all of the women I knew said I looked better without it. I may be dumb, but I'm not dumb enough not to listen to that kind of feedback.

I really want to try it. On the TT 800, there is said to be a way to successfully run it through the aux in instead of one of the effects loops or straight into the main input. Maybe I’ll bring that amp. But I need to do some homework on the settings. I have ordered a 3.5 mm to 1/4 TS mono interconnect cable which should be here today. If the pedal works well that way, I’ll be able to use the amp with the two on-board preamps and the outboard preamp and change between them with foot switches.

Your upright technique is far better than mine. I stand to the side instead of to the back while playing it, which is probably really bad. But it works for me somehow. It makes bowing a little awkward. But, I'm hardly a virtuoso anyway, so there's that.That's a bass-players expression if I ever saw one!

Just for the sake of debate/clarification, in portuguese the word uses a "ç", so the correct spelling is Gonçalo Alves. In spanish I don´t know.

I’ve got a couple other purchases in the works right now. One is a done deal and is something completely different than a Thunderbird; an ABG fiver. I don’t have an acoustic and this one just happened to become available for a very fair price. Just waiting to pick it up. The other is a possibility. I’m trying to decide on it. I keep saying no more, but very fair offers come up on things I’m looking for and it’s hard to resist.
Epiphone basses are great. The incoming white one will make eight Epi Thunderbirds. The Embassy, once they got the bridge position issue on the early ones sorted, was great. The Newport looks to be a fun bass, although early production issues have made me wait awhile before getting one. I will get a Casady one of these days.
Add to that, no flip flops. I don't know this person.

I need to speak with Geo about the best way to repair the gouge on the lower bout of the TV Silver one. I’m taking it to the GTG, you can play it and see if you don’t agree that it’s a great player.
I’m also taking the Silverburst so Irv can do tracings/measurements to do his thing making a black pickguard and a black TR cover with chrome logos. The Silverburst originally came with a black pickguard, but it got switched at some point before it made its way to me.
But that tone. Well worth keeping in top shape.
Mine came off when I decided to grow up and start a life as a professional businessman.
…my wife took a bit longer to make that transition.

As an owner of now seven bolt-on Epi Thunderds I think they’re fine. They offer the benefit of being able to be shimmed which I’ve had to do on the Silverburst and the Goth to get the action low how I like it. Another advantage is being able to pop the neck for shipping which saves some money.
I’ve thought about keeping one tuned like that. If I did, I’d probably use (God forbid) a capo with it when playing songs in EADG.
