Thunderbird Club

I'm kind of torn...no pun intended.... I kind of like the worn as well, and I'm not one that's fond of relicing at all. I don't think you can go wrong either way. As far as all the scientific consensus goes here, tone has not been found in the grill cloth.
Unless it’s made of purple silk.

...at Chucky's Sunday afternoon winery gig - the cutest couple there!

+1

At dinner Saturday night, V summed it up... all the bass-stuff is super cool/fun etc, but all of us getting together and just hanging was the point. I totally agree. Our individual love of all-things-bass and Thunderbirds in particular drew us together, and the kinship and comradely of a very diverse group of people that resulted is really special... something to be truly grateful for. Thanks again Chuck & Rosa for hosting the second fabulous T-bird GTG!

...and don't forget the doggies ...

Irv means business.
And of course we’re always very serious around here.
I’ll keep photo bombing because I don’t know what else to do or say.
Miss everybody already.

Dang, don’t mess with Irv. Back at ya. Missing everyone at this end too.

That’s Irv’s James Bond pose.

nah.., as all Canadians - Irv's (too) polite to be a bad-ass. He would say "...excuse me.., I'm Bond.., James Bond, aye?" ;) :D

I got home a couple minutes after midnight, right on time. Happy to be home with my wife and in our own bed (ahem away) but I do miss everyone. Maybe we should all move to a small country where we can get together more easily. I hear Portugal is lovely and affordable.

May be an attractive option depending...

Just don’t root for anything in Oakland. They’ll just move.
Only stands to reason. If I lived in Oakland, I’d move. :D

Georges 3 pu "Bling-Bass" for me was the big impress of the day (there were 29 basses there that we brought) and that's saying a lot because all 29 sounded, looked and played great! He 'did his own research' ;) and the result exceled in every dept., looks, player interface to controls, playability and tone - bravo for his 1st build!

Thanks for the kind words on the BlingBird Geo! Although not my first build, certainly a fun build and it incorporated lots of theory, research and innovation that in this case came out very nicely. Invention is always a journey, and in this case the journey will continue with a sequel probably less focused on Bling and more focused on the Meat and Potatoes of a professional working players bass.

Best caption to describe the pic gets... something!

LOL - Sure looks like a fish story. IIRC we were discussing the finer points of measuring pickup dimensions. I’ll be very interested in seeing and hearing about Dave’s SD thunderbird pup install. He’s got a design upgrade in mind for his VP that might just make an already fantastic sounding bass a truly stellar sounding bass.
