Our fridge is about 15 or maybe 20 years old. It is simple and still works. It is supposedly frost free, but we have to defrost it every three to six months, depending on weather. Defrosting it is a pain in the butt and makes a wet mess, but the fridge still works. No ice maker, no water dispenser, no nonsense.

Yeah, I retired from trucking in 2007. I've noticed that there seem to be more 'cowboys' out there than there used to be. It's not that difficult to drive a big rig. To drive it well is a different story.
Over my 23 years of full-time trucking(and weekend Thunderbirding), I took a lotta :poop: as part of the job. Prolly why I sometimes get bent outta shape when drivers-as a whole-get ragged on. However. A lotta the rules have changed since I "hung it up".
Glad I'm not doing it-trucking, that is-any more. But I'll be TBirding tonight. For $, even.:)

Mine's from 2007-ish. The automatic ice maker quit 4-5 years ago. I have ice trays.:thumbsup:

When I first started following this club, I’d marvel at why the heck we’re talking about refrigerators?!?.

Now it’s one of the more normal topics.

I have a Montgomery Ward refrigerator, basic, frost free, still running. As a matter of fact it runs a lot! Probably not the most efficient appliance I’ve had. It was in the house when we bought it, and I’m pretty sure there was a minor remodel done in the early/mid ‘90’s, which consisted of replacing windows, converting the wall heater to central heating, and a bunch of oak trim around every door and window(that was painted white within a week of me buying this place). So the fridge could have been new then, but somehow I think it’s actually even older.

I do want a new one, simply for efficiency, but as long as this one works, it stays….

That amp ought to sound pretty sweet. Were it me, I’d probably get whichever cab is 4 ohms since you don’t intend to add a second cab.

The Berg would be really tempting with the 112, 210 configuration. The GK and Epifani are classics. Tough choice.

I played a little drummerless gig last night and played the first set plugged straight into the amp (Hartke Kickback 12), and the second set through the SansAmp Bass Fly Rig.
The SansAmp, set properly, brought out a lot of what I was looking for. But that is an interesting idea.
I'm finding myself appreciating the "work with what you have" ethic. Sometimes these p'ups really do a nice almost-dark punch. If I could get to the other end of the dynamic spectrum, I'd stop worrying it.

Depending on your pickups and bass, a cap change can make a world of difference.

We seem to travel a pretty similar tone path, and for that reason these would be tops on my list to consider.
Epifani T-212 (2x12 + tweeter) ported (tweeter can be turned off)
Bergantino Ht322 (1x12 + 2x10 + tweeter) ported (tweeter can be turned off)

I have no experience with any of those mentioned, but when I've played GK cabs they didn't have that big sweet sound I'm after. But I have not played every cab they make. Not a knock. I don't even like most Ampeg cabs and I'm a Ampeg guy. The Mesa's I have played all sounded good from what I recall. For some reason I can imagine the Epifani or Bergantino being a bad choice.

The Berg is very tempting, but I’m leaning towards Epifani on this one right now.

Yep, and he loves it. I have one also as my main rig. Best sounding cab made in the 410 or smaller category IMHO.
On the down side, I called Jim Bergantino and discussed the HT322 with him and the watch out is that the speakers which were proprietary have been discontinued and there isn’t an equivalent drop in replacement. So I’m probably gonna pass on the Berg and go with one of the other three.

It's pretty cool. It belonged to the guitarist in the punk band I posted about the other day. He passed a few years ago and his brother gave it to me along with the Marshall 2031, and the Dan Armstrong copy. (And I bought the Marauder from him)
The Silvertone is playable, but could benefit from some fretwork. It's on the list:D
