Wowza, this Greco popped up on one of my feeds, never seen one like this

Most excellent!

I’d agree they don’t sound like rounds, but I’d also note they are one of the least traditional flatwound sound strings out there.

OMG, the dreaded MXA!

I find the EBCF to be strong in the bottom and mids with adequate defined top end. So probably a bit too close to boomers.

Neil Sedaka would agree with you…

I may not have been as clear as needed in mentioning "Round Cores," not simply rounds. Regular Boomers (virtually all round wounds, in fact) are hex and have more mids and are also a little more stiff. Round cores sound a little bigger, which I suspect is because the round cores have less pronounced mids.

Possibly you have clarified and I haven't gotten that far yet, but are you thinking darker or brighter; more or less mids? Flats maybe?

Howzabout "Afternoon Delight"-Starlight Vocal Band.:smug:
Hadn't thought of that or had it co through my heard for a decade or more. Thanks..... Now I'll have to listen to some George Jones to get that out of my head.

(Not a country fan, but there are some that I like, and GJ's voice and the way he sings is really amazing.)

Shipping is a bit steep on it, but it's also a bit rare now. I wish Aria still made stuff like they used to. Also wish I'd bought a couple when I was young.

yeah, but they do have an option to make an offer, so lets see...

I need some parts to finish my ric 5 string conversion lets see if some money is left over....

Yep. But we ditched the weight machine about five years ago. It was old and creaky. Mid eighties. I wasn’t suing it much anymore so the wife got rid of it. I am back doing cardio when I’m at the mountain where the Nordic Trac is now that the ankle is pretty well heeled. Trying to get rid of the limp.
Ken is on the right track. Core strengthening is what will/could help. Cardio is likely of minimal, if any, help for neck and back issues.* A number of back issues can he helped by core (gut) strengthening. I had a fantastic Health Prof in college. The guy was amazing. Even taught at conferences for docs and heart surgeons. You might be able to find some helpful trainers on youtube that can give you a few things to try. You might seek a sports rehab or trainer as well. I have neck problems (too much reading and typing), and have to go to him once in a while to get things worked out and loosened up. Like my health Prof, said that many, if not most back and neck problems are muscular and not really orthopedic in nature or origin.

anybunny ever use stainless flatwounds?

I'm searching for a 5 string set and while I'd love a 40-125 set of nickle, it's slim pickins on 5 string sets...

I may even go rounds..... stainless or nickle...

It's all connected.
