Thunderbird Club

It’s like when a southern woman says, “bless your heart!” It can be caring or sarcastic. 😘😜
Like the sign I made for my office.

Never heard of him- just YouTuber Scott username Scott’s Bass Lessons
Scott is the inventor of the BadBird Bridge which allows for better intonation on vintage thunderbirds. At least a couple famous Thunderbird owners have bought them. Scott has a pic of him and Geddy holding a bass with one on it before a show.

Just did half a thing…

These Epiphone Non Reverse Reversed headstock necks don’t come up for sale often (if ever). Appears to be in really good shape, nice level frets, working truss, no bow or twist. Even included the tuners, nut and truss cover. It’ll sit in inventory until I decide what to build around it.
So you're not taking up bass left-handed? We'll have to settle for a cool bass you come up with instead.

Cool! I have an Epiphone hockey stick headstock neck that's very nice. I hope to make a Mockingbird body for it one day.

I tend to not like the various bastardizations of the traditional Thunderbird shape i.e Schecter, Dean et al, with the exception of Peter Cook's creations and Carlo's recreations for JAE. I don't know that a II was ever done, but I do love this shape, especially with the blocked lefty neck, in fact moreso than the tradition TBird body.

Interesting, basically a slab reverse body with a deep cutout for fret access, a wonky non reverse pickguard and a reversed headstock neck.
Looks familiar and different at the same time, the pickguard gives it a kind of mid century modern vibe. A Nash Metropolitan color scheme from that era (i.e. light Turquoise body with an off White guard) might be interesting as well.

In time for Thunderbird Thursday, many thanks to George for sending me these Apex Traditional Cryos. I gave them a really good workout at band practice last night and really liked them. Right up there with the Power Steel. They're basically the old DM Blue Steel. Definitely gigging them on the 25th.
