Thunderbird Club

Thanks, guys! :)
Happy Birthday Dude!.

If it were faithful to the original, really faithful like a Thunderbird II in Inverness Green.... I'd go 4K.

I don't think there's a chance in Hell they'll do it though.

Somehow, no matter what, Gibson will miss the mark. They always do.

One or two. Ampegs were non-existent as far as I remember. The most common 'foreign' amps were the contemporary Fender Twins and maybe a Bassman head or two. Most people used Jansen, Holden, Abbey (AC30 clones and very nice), Gunn and the 'orrible Rockits.

Been trying to find specs for the efficiency of those Acoustic cabs - nothing so far.
I'm not sure what the efficiency spec would be. The amps would drive anything down to 2 ohms without a problem. I think a 301 cabinet is a 4 ohm cabinet, but it might be 8. I know you can drive four powered cabinets with one 360 preamp, but that's a different animal. The power ratings for a 361 Power Plus cabinet was only 200 watts, but four of them was plenty to fill a stadium to excess noise levels. They don't require a zillion watts to make a lot of sound pressure.

I have an idea that horns are typically 10dB more efficient, which would definitely be noticeable.

The 301 I'm looking at is 4 ohm I believe.

Heeeeeeyyy!!! Thanks for posting that! That is one of those albums that has eluded me all these years. I'm gonna enjoy that this evening:thumbsup:

I came home late after a jam session one night and put this album on to unwind - I realized even though I wasn't consciously emulating the Wood-mans style, I played a lot like him. Nothing flashy - just solid foundation with a personal style. Great album this -

Since we are at it, and throwing out some bass players, not as well known, and maybe shouldn't be known for playing bass.................
I think Keith holds it down pretty good.
Pretty raw sound, but i dig it.

I'm just an old buzzard exposing some of my roots here.
Go easy on me.

awesome - love the Moon!

Saw Wetton with UK, Eddie Jobson (violin), and Terry Bozzio on drums, open for Yes for Yes' 90125 tour. They were great.

Terry Bozio.
'77, The Palladium NYC, Baby Snakes Tour with FZ.
Eddie Jobson with FZ, same venue, just the year before.
Musicianship the likes I've never heard.
