Thunderbird Club

One thing that I don’t like about it, that also bugs me about the Studios is the rounded edges. It makes it look mellower, not as badass.
And the 7ender headstock

Definitely in the Alembic camp aesthetically which is a matter of taste - the only famous T-bird player who went there was Entwistle as far as I know - otherwise all other T-birders were rockin' stock birds. I'd say next to him the most famous/high profile T-bird player was Pete Overend Watts (Mott the Hoople) Martin Turner from Wishbone Ash and George Chambers from The Chambers Brothers. They all played stock T-bird IV's.

I should clarify a bit. I actually went to a few Kings games before Gretzky. Once he arrived, ticket prices went through the roof. It can be pretty exciting live, but to me is unwatchable on TV. Even on a modern big screen. But I get the fascination for those you grew up playing it.
Tv doesn't do it justice but it's all we've got-most of the time. Yer right, NHL game prices are nuts but there's ECHL games in Orlando that are reasonable for decent seats(not 'nosebleed')

I’m at the Sydney Opera House tonight for “All you need is love” - and yes saw the same show last Jan 1. Quite a few tourists seem to come to these shows. Some Canadian accents in my row, heard some Americans and French also. Sat next to a South African couple last year.

Back on Friday for ‘The Zep Boys”.

View from the foyer at intermission. It’s about to kick off for Act 2. Bye.

+1 on the G30. I like mine. But get a neoprene case for it. The battery door is pretty flimsy.
Both of mine are in Neotech cases. I also took that Velcro cable wrap stuff and went around the body to hold the battery door as a failsafe. Maybe it doesn't help but it sure doesn't hurt.

Watched the George Martin doc tonight on Amazon Prime. Music is so important. Wishing the very best for everyone in 2019. Go make music!!!

HNY Mark! Music is important! I'll have to check out that doc - I'm listening to a Beatles collection right now! Good way to start the new year! I grew up hearing all their songs on the radio but bought my first Beatles album Sgt.Peppers (mono) and was hooked! Revolver, Sgt.Peppers and Magical Mystery Tour are still my three favorite albums.

It will cost almost as much as your 'Bird is worth to get someone qualified to paint it. You can half ass it as well as anyone, maybe better.

I don't want it half-assed. I absolutely can half ass things as well as anybody, being both a CroMagnon knuckle dragger and a genetic Appalachian. I can even do a credibly good 3/4 ass job for most things. This one boils down to time and motivation. I have projects that don't involve painting equipment I don't own and skills I would have to develop on the fly lined up, and it's worth it to pay somebody else about half the value of the 'Bird to get it painted.

[edit] Got pricing back. $650 or $800, depending. Ouch, but what the heck. What am I going to do, pay other bills? If I didn't blow the money on paint, I would probably blow more money on another bass guitar or something anyway. I was mostly good that way in 2018, so I have some dumb spending saved up for 2019.
