Check out my TB Wiki: High Pass and Low Pass Filters | TalkBass.comWhat the difference between using a HPF and just turning the bass down at the amp?

There are a few graphs at the beginning that make it easy to see the difference.

Gotoh '70s style big-plate clover 'Geddy Lee' style tuners - the best (note: personal collection - not for sale)

Wow !
That painting would look so good in my little home studio
Gorgeous bass ! That XTender is a nice touch, they custom-made that for you ?
Thanks! I sent them the gold tuner and requested the mix. They will convert most tuners into their drop-D system for a set fee, but they were extra nice to go the extra mile. (at no additional cost) I've used a lot of Hipshot products over the years including bridges and converting tuners to their drop-D system.

AND GET OFF MY LAWN!
I have a JC that I HATE - not that it's not a really good bass. It's just that mine has a neck that CONTANTLY needs adjusting - at least it's in both directions. Plus, there is something screwy with the 12th fret on the E string. I thought it was a raised fret so I tried tapping it in - did nothing. Upon closer inspection it appears that the fret is totally seated, and that maybe the fretboard itself wasn't sanded flat, or maybe some piece of debris fell into the slot right before the frets were added. I should take it to a tech to get it sorted out, but then there is still the see-sawing neck issue. Not worth the trouble to me. I want to sell it, but don't want anyone else stuck with my problems, so I imagine it will just take up space until I meet my maker.

That sux.Mine closed up shop!!
