Thunderbird Club

I can't see how there would be much if any perceptible difference. I can't see the additional wiring and PU altering the tone on the neck PU when off.
Can I have one of those bags for the head too please?:)

My experience with this dead-horse beating topic is mostly from the Fender camp.

I have to tend to agree with PillO on Cobalts having a odd and rough feeling. I won't go all Drama Queen and say cheese shredders;):D or rasps, but I don't care for the feel. My fingers feel like they have been roughed up after much playing.

Come to think of it, reminds me a little of cheese shredders.

THUNDERBIRD THURSDAY!!!

You[1] can tune an angry piano[2] but you can't tuna fish[3[.

[1] Hopefully, since you're in The Club.
[2] Although if it's angry enough, its headstock might fly off and kill you[5].
[3] Much less two fish[4].
[4] Red fish blue fish rainbow fish.
[5] Speaking of killing you, those pickup height screws are only going to get more dangerous when I get more foam and raise the pickups. Won't even need to be windmilling.
I'm beginning to think you are the Imelda Marcos of slipper wear!

Sorry if someone already chimed in. No, they do sound different. I like the Fender's because they are more balanced in tone, whereas the Chromes have more lows and more highs. Which is why I think they are favorites for round players wants a bass with flats. I love the Fender's, never found Chromes to sound good on anything, and I tried. Maybe one day I'll spend more money trying them and not regret it that time.
Chromes sound really good on my J shaped objecto_O

Strings are really one of the cheapest ways to try changing your tone, sometimes drastically.
And you never know if there is a magic combination until much experimentation has been done. Which is why I have more strings than necessary. Sometimes you hit on sonic bliss.

That's the RS66s for me.
