Just realized a custom strap I had made a couple of years ago works perfectly (beautiful
) for my Embassy.

You'd actually be helping them reduce their inventory.Yes. I couldn't take advantage and sell it back at a profit, either. That wouldn't be right. Not that any of us has a whole lot of wiggle room right now, what with the bug situation. If the prices dropped and I could pick one up from a shop for a sane price, that's a slightly different issue. The shop might be selling at a loss, and I would feel a little bad about that, but not bad enough to worry about it for very long.

Yeah, I got it when it came out. Blue vinyl. So many cool people on it, including Nels Cline!Cool having the LP - I have the CD - it rocks! (Kirkwood brothers on Big Train)![]()
It's from France. That Thunderbird is a one -off Custom Shop piece originally made by Phil Jones for What's his name in the Scorpions, he evidently didn't like and it languished for some time before being completed.
What's sad is what Gibson is actually capable of that they just don't even try, I already have a lot of 'Birds, but were they to offer that bass I'd be on it in a heartbeat!
Somehow my job is deemed "essential" just now so on I go, I have given up the public transit for the duration however, it's just too much unneeded risk twice a day - driving the Subaru instead, I have paid, gated private parking and much less traffic than normal.........
yeah, not surprised...seen young HAMs embarrass seasoned RF engineers many times..
We got that the other day. It's all gone now, nice day today. Keep the faith brother, summer is right around the corner.

Flipped some discs today. Came across this one. Anyone else like Hooters?

I thought Andy King was a good player. Can’t believe this record is 35 years old.

I got into them when they covered Love’s She Comes In Colors.
Yup,
Another great quote:
"All We Have To Fear Is Fear Itself"
...and a fast moving Eppi Thunderbird VP player on a tight stage!I've been casually watching that one as well. But I'm not dying for it, just not completely sold on the Phellam Blue model, black hardware and standard TBird pups. Still have my fingers crossed for an Eppi VP NR or lacking that, maybe a BaCH NR bird with some pup upgrades.I've been following/longing for this for awhile. Doesn't seem to have a lotta interest. 'Course about the time I decide to "take the plunge" I'll be a dollar late and a day short.(2013 Gibby NR)

I love his playing. I think the only time I saw him live was with Yo La Tengo at one of their Hanukkah shows at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ.You know it - Nels first started playing with Watt in the '90s - I have a 45 ... the Black Gang I think they were called. At first Watt didn't know what to think about Nels but was drawn to his being out there. His beloved black '59 Jazzmaster originally belonged to Watt. It was nice to see him still playing it in the Wilco vid - I think it mostly lives in Chicago these days.

@JIO Wow, just looked it up and it was 10 years ago.I love his playing. I think the only time I saw him live was with Yo La Tengo at one of their Hanukkah shows at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ.
I'm stuck looking at the gorgeous one nicely finished off with covers! That really turned out good. The building my office is in is right next to the train tunnel. The wall of the basement is also the wall of the tunnel. Being down in the basement when a train rumbles past is an experience. And, if a train full of oil or coal goes boom, so does the building.
And finally a flock picture. Not Jeff quality, but very few pictures are.
The Telebird on the right is a baritone guitar, so it kinda fits in. It's a lot of fun to play. Too bad I suck at it. This picture sure makes the pixie dust '01 look weird lying on the sofa. I guess that's part of the magic - it's voodoo that makes it not show up quite right in photos as a trade-off for how well it plays. The bolt-on is to the right of the '15, and it's the one that will be a project when I finally get around to it. I have the Dimarzio One to put in once it's routed. The Flamingo convinced me I need to get the bolt-on refinished, too. It would look good some outrageous color to go along with the colors around the edges of its sound.
