Just wrong. That show had several songs of the time they turned into poopie. Well executed poopie mind you.

Individual musicianship was outstanding. Arrangements were tight. And soooo vanilla.

as flashy as he can be, I’ve never heard him lay down solid, incessant 16ths a la Rocco (which is way more challenging imho), don’t get me wrong, huge fan of Stanley but just sayin’….

Saw him live at The Palladium here in NYC in the late 70’s.
All I can say from my perspective is that he knocked me outta my seat.

Do you think Alex or Neil ever considered trying to get a vocalist to round out the band early on?

And yet they had insane success with that voice. I like it, have since I first heard Fly by Night.

Think I know what you are saying not quite sure.
When I play my acoustic bass guitar I use the index finger but kind of along the string using more of the side of my finger. It gives me what I imagine is more of an upright sound.

Interesting to see different takes on tunes-for a few minutes.
I'm a big Chicago fan. One day, while grocery shopping, I'm vaguely aware of the canned instrumental background music that's playing and as the tune is more than halfway through I realize it's one of Chicago's bigger hits done by a string orchestra.

I recall the first time I heard the Beatles on Muzak. A few days later I heard Purple Haze on Muzak. Same elevator. I wanted to scream, but this was while working in shipping at Saks Fifth Avenue, and with my long hair I was already marginal.
