I guess it is a dressed up Studio Bird, but that is not a bad thing. I wonder if they will still release the one with the red binding/inlays?? Wasn't there also talk of a flying V bass from Gene's line as well?

Using my very suspect iPhone measurement app it says around 49” from top to the edge of the back wing. So if that soft shell on Amazon is 50” it may work.

It should then since I measured kind of diagonally to get the longest dimension. If a Prime member you already paid for return shipping (many times) so get one and see if it works. If not just send it back.

not sure what a VP is..

I have the Ibanez gig bag, and the roadrunner double bag, they both fit my telebirds, havent tried my NR or non-NR.

I like that mod idea. Still mulling it over for my Classic Pro.

I have a Model One, and have been mulling a change to the fretless 'Bird's pickups. Maybe it should get the Model One. And I am not sure what by the bridge.

Vintage Pro, or as they now call it “60s”. It’s got the extra large headstock like on the originals so it doesn’t fit most cases.

It fits in a Gibson case. Barely but it fits.

I’ve read it somewhere on here but now I can’t find it. Anyone know the total length of the VP? Don’t want to shell out $130 for the hard case so I’m trying to source a useable gig bag. If any even exist.

No. Very different animal. The VPs are neck through like the Gibson versions.

VPs are longer than the typical Thunderbird.

It is. Get the angle right when taking a pic and it can look almost as big as the body.

Nice! I’d like a Dbird, but they seem to be pretty rare.
