That's what I thought but mine wasn't reacting to volume knob changes. I just unplugged and reseated the cable and now all is good.

This is why I run a separate DI box between my Le Bass and power amp. I control my output level at the power amp, leaving the levels from Le Bass as constant from the DI.

I have a Le Bass. I'll take a club number if you're still doing that.

I totally love what channel A does for my tone. Being an ex guitar player with a love for tube pre and power sections, i was missing that magic in my bass tone.

I run a classD power amp only (PF500) so all my tone is coming from my pedal board. I was reasonably happy with my overall sound, using mainly B7KU as an always on pre. I needed a brighter louder higher gain footswitch option though, for a lift in certain sections of our music. I was running a Pike Vulcan, which was getting it done pretty well. Still missing tube magic though.

So I try the LeBass. Instant awesome. Love it. Immediately remove the Vulcan, redundant now.

I have tried various combinations, with and without B7KU, before and after etc. I have settled on running BOTH together, LeBass first. This combo is MY tone, just awesome.

I get the eq, growl and baked in tone of the B7KU and the tube phatness and clarity of the LeBass. Channel A always on for me.

Now, I still needed footswitch "boosted" option. That's where channel B comes in. I had some trouble finding the eq/shape/gain settings that gave me what I wanted. Pretty sure I'm echoing others views about this.

After a lot of experimenting, cold fusion is the answer, for me. It retains most of the greatness of channel A, while giving me the lift I need from channel B by increasing gain and eq a bit. It's a little tricky to hit both switches to go into cold fusion, luckily only one switch to come back out. I would like a way to make that a one switch affair :/

I am very happy with this combination! Just love my tone now.

I will say this unit is huge, is power hungry, has crazy bright LEDs and a bunch of features i completely don't need. I run DI out of my OCSD for instance which also does my cab sim. Don't want midi or headphone amp. Don't even need built in fx loop.

So, for me, an awesome option would be a smaller streamlined version. Until then, this IS MY TONE.

Charlie sorry to bother you again, if I'm going DI into a power amp with the Le Bass, will I still need the torpedo CAB to replicate the sound heard through headphones out of the Le Bass? The sound in the headphones is THE SOUND! Just a reminder I'm going into a fearfull 1212/6/1. Thanks for all the input on these threads! Cheers to you!

Both the headphone and XLR outputs on Le Bass are in line for the optional speaker sim. Should you connect to your power amp via Le Bass' XLR output and have speaker sim engaged then IMHO you perhaps would not benefit much further with a Torpedo CAB for cabinet sim.

I believe the cabinet sim in Le Bass is a hybrid of "Fridge" and "Alu XL" models in the CAB and in my estimation should sound fantastic through your 1212/6/1.

Hey everyone, I'm happy to say that I've joined the club!

The Le Bass sounds great. I haven't gigged it yet, but I should have a show coming up in the spring (metal band where I will play a fretless 5) I'm in the process of putting together a pedalboard with an effects loop for time-based effects, but I ran into a problem.

For some reason, the Le Bass sending to my Maxon PT-999 Phaser Pedal is making a clipping noise on low notes (around E and lower). The cab sim isn't the problem, and I have the bass on channel A at 10 o'clock. The PT-999 does seem to add a touch of low end and compression to the signal coming through, but I've never heard this low clipping noise until using the Le Bass effects loop.

I can move the PT-999 back in the chain - before the Le Bass - but I wanted to ask some TB'ers familiar with the Le Bass if there is a way to keep the effects loop as part of my plan (since I can't afford a C.A.B. at the moment). Can the Phaser just not handle the glorious tone of the Le Bass?

Depending on the individual Volume knob levels of both Channels A + B, both the Main 1/4" Output and Effect Send 1/4" can be in receipt of large signals approaching +4 dBu. With this said, no wonder your Phaser pedal is choking on the big swings (as it expects a much lower working instrument/line level.)

See the block diagram I posted above.

My advice is to simply put the Phaser pedal (and most other pedals) in front of Le Bass like pedals in front of a real amp.

For those using both the Le Bass and the C.A.B sim, are you also connecting them by MIDI to change the CAB settings when you change channels on the Le Bass? If so, is it working as expected?

I own both products and do not use the MIDI connections/functionality of either.

The Le Bass PDF manual appears to have been removed (or accidentally deleted) from Invalid Link Removed
