Hey guys! Proud owner of a 1996 Peavey Fury here. Just had a quick question that I thought some of you super knowledgeable Peavey owners may be able to answer. Compared to other basses I've owned, the frets on my Fury make a very different noise when they come into contact with the strings. It's pretty loud and just has a different timbre to it. Are they made of a different material than more recent basses? Also, the sides of the frets (over the fingerboard, not at the edges of the neck) don't seem to be as rounded as those on other basses I have owned in past. They're pretty much flat across the top and have a 90 degree angle dropping down to the fretboard. I'm asking these questions because I've ended up putting flats on it just to keep the noise down. I have also had to raise the action a bit more than I would like. Maybe I just need to have it professionally set up? I've always done my own set ups, but this bass just seems to be more picky. Thanks in advance for your time and comments!
