Uber 410 = Uber Bad *ss

The only GB head I have owned/tried was the Neo Pak and it was way too high-fi for me. I'm sure the GBE 1200 is completely different though.

One thing I will say is that Genz heads can get very old school if you take some time and do a bit of tweaking. I played a Shuttle 3.0, a NeoPak, and a GBE600 with various Genz cabs in a blues band, and got great old school tones.

All that aside, though, I'm willing to bet you'll do great with the B1500 and an Uber cab. The B1500 is an awesome amp, and there's nothing about it that makes me think it wouldn't be adaptable to an Uber cab. It's my main amp now. I've actually dreamed of pairing it with an Uber 410.

Best Wishes,
Liam

Thanks DAcat, that helps. Now it just make me want one even more.

It seems that a lot of the Uber cab owners are using the GBE 1200. How do the Uber cabs sound with non GB heads?

I would most likely be powering the cab with the Carvin B1500, and have considered a Titan V12 down the road. Just curious how these cabs work with other heads.

The only GB head I have owned/tried was the Neo Pak and it was way too high-fi for me. I'm sure the GBE 1200 is completely different though. I'm just trying to get a good idea of the tone of this cab and how the head contributes so I can make a good decision. Unfortunately I don't get to try much gear out before I buy.

Being that the B1500 is a pretty balanced amp tone-wise, I'd think that it would kick@$$ with the 410 Uber cab.
I'd love to hear that pairing myself.
You might check with tombowlus, if anyone on talkbass has heard this combination, it might be him.
I'm jonesin' for a B1500 myself.

Yea, I would love to hear from someone who has played through this combo. Our band has an out of town gig in a couple of months and there are several Genz dealers in the area.

lo-freq, I just looked at your GAS list in your profile...you may need professional help:hiding:

That's quite a list, and well thought out too:)

Yes, I need professional help with my finances (or the winning lotto numbers).

Yeah, thanks; I take my GAS very seriously -- ;)

Well I have NEW favorite cabinet. The Uber410... well actually I was sooo stoked on the Uber212 and have been using that for the last few months until this weekend. I needed to set up 2 rigs n 2 different locations and onw was an outdoor venue. I pulled the 410 out for the outside gig because my Uber212 was in the club. So I first used the my NeoX112 and it did a good job but just wasn't enough( without really dogging it) to do it my way. So the next I brought out the 410...Man ohg man was it something. Iended up swapping it with the 212 in the club and never looked back. In the middle of all the sequences, electric drums and guitar this thing just rose to the occassion.I am leaving the 410 in the car for a while to reaquint myself with overkill

I gotta find one of these to listen to!

I've now done done 4 gigs over the past 6 weeks with my 410 and GBE 1200, and other than looking to acquire an Uber 210 (and possibly a Shuttle Max 12 in place of my 1200) so I can go lighter weight and have large (610), medium (410) and small (210) rig options, I am completely GAS free when it comes to amplification.

I did a showcase Friday night and we did a set, followed by two other bands. I let the other two bands use my rig, so I got to hear three other bass players play through it. It was absolutely sublime. The master never got above 9:00 and the three other bass players who used it raved about it. It just filled the bar with tight but warm low-end goodness.

Our first show was at a huge place with a huge stage and I let the opening band use it. I think for that one, the master volume was about 10:30 when the opening band took the stage and and the sound guy wanted it turned down.

The Uber 410 has this wonderfully tight but massive low-end, full but well-behaved mid range, and a really nice smooth high end that cuts beautifully. I love the dip in the high mids they engineered into these cabs to eliminate any honkyness.

We opened for another band Saturday night, and again, I let the bass player use my rig and he raved about it the whole time I was loading out. What was really telling though was that their guitarist and drummer were also raving about it.

There is no doubt in my mind that Genz Benz amps and Uber cabs are my sound.;):bassist:

I don't know if your band does any travelling, but if you're ever around the DFW, TX area, give me a shout.
If my band's not gigging that night, I'd love to hear a Dingwall with the rig you have.

I'd love to help you out on that. We are not traveling yet, as these were are first 4 gigs!

BUT, when we make some recordings of our performances, which we will at some point, I'll make sure to post some.

BTW, the Dingwall through the Genz is simply pure sex!:D

I just forgot what a sick F'ing cabinet this is. I was using it as my practice cabinet in a 3rd floor condo. Needless to say I didnt play loud. But... getting to use it again when it can be turned on...holy cow.

YES- its sicker than a REAL pandemic... ;) Thanks to you and Buffalo Bob, I got turned on to the Uber Cabs and I decided to go for the 410 after being on the fence a long time knowing that you preferred the 212...but after I got my 410, I never had a second thought...this cab has made every bass and amp I've tried through it sound much fatter, warmer, richer and downright snarly...even a couple of basses I had decided to sell suddenly sounded great. IME ...it really shines when the volume is above 8:30 - 9:00 (mod to loud bass volume for a small cub) at least on my GBE1200 to really open up the speakers, though it sounds fine at lower volumes as well. I really love twelves as well... and I think this is my favorite 410 cab that sounds like a 212 cab...Peace...DAcat

Don't relax yet... the Uber212 is a sick puppy and when on top of the Uber410 prepare to be stunned.:D

Is stunned an adjective that describes a 212 atop a 410? I like maybe bowled over and put to sleep by SPLs, or blown to the back of the room. Trust me, you put these 2 cabs together with an SM12 or any great head that sports 1000 watts or so, and you will have a new hair style by the end of the night and maybe put some people in traction! (LOL) I almost went with 2-410s but now I'm glad that I have the different cabs and I will never own a 15 again. The Master still never gets past 9 or 10 o'clock and the tube side is balls to the wall. It's my LOUD *ss guitarist that's completely "stunned" (still a great word) even after the gig (he say's the cut through is amazing).
Keep Rockin' you Uber Bad *ss Dude
