Vegetarian Club Anyone?

If you feel guilty over eating meat you could just stop. I know that sounds rather obvious, but its how I did it. Cold turkey. I had one final meat meal once I decided to go veg and havent touched it since. Now I eat a lot more vegetables, tofu, and TVP. I dont miss meat at all, in fact Im at a point where I kind of find it repulsive.

Also, I find this book very helpful when it comes to making affordable and easy vegetarian meals:

Same here. I had one final burger and milkshake, then cold turkey. I might have to check out that book. I find myself eating the same dishes and I want to expand a little.

Marleys Ghost, When you go out to eat somewhere, try substituting the meat. Taco Bell, Subway, Chili's, These are just a few that can replace the meat in your burger, sandwich, or taco.

The day I decided to stop eating meat happened to be the day we were going out to dinner with my gf's family for her grandma's birthday. The place was called Roy's and their vegetarian options sucked. My gf told me I chose the wrong day to stop eating meat. I said ok, tomorrow I start. I had a filet mignon and all kinds of wonderful appetizers. And I havent eaten meat since then.

That book is great. The ingredients are fairly cheap and the recipes are easy to follow. Also, the portions arent too big, some of them make only a single serving.

Taco Bell = Get anything that normally has meat, just ask for beans instead.
Subway = Veggie Delite is bomb, and fully customizable
El Pollo Loco = BRC BUrritos and Loco Salads FTW
Del Taco = Bean & Cheese or Veggie Works burritos
Carls Jr = Has a decent Veggie Burger
Wendys = Baked Potato & Garden Salad
In N Out (for those in Ca) = Grilled Cheese Animal Style
Sushi = Vegetable Rolls (or Tempura Vegetable Rolls)
Red Robin = Substitute a Veggie Patty on any Burger/Sandwich
A lot of Thai food places will have a vegetarian menu

Just a list of some random fast food/take out places with some vegetarian options that Ive had

Is this what turned you into a veggie?

vegetarians & vegans = lesser form of human being, IMHO

Re: vegetarians & vegans = lesser form of human being, IMHO

Im sure youre kidding, but I never understood this sentiment (which is pretty close to how some people actually feel). I mean, my not eating meat only leaves more for you to enjoy, yes!? Why hate on us for not eating it?

I understand how meat eaters could get annoyed at the militant types who preach 'Though shalt not eatus thy meat' and crap, but I dont give a damn what others want to ingest, so why does anyone give a crap that I want to eat rabbit food? I like it, its healthier, and it leaves more meat for you! Its a personal decision I made based on my previously poor diet and my love of all sentient beings. I dont tell others not to eat meat if thats what they want to do.

Lucille's has a portabella sandwich that is just absolutely delicious. (I am not a vegetarian, but randomly I will choose a day to not eat any meat). Swear to Scarlett Johannson (I wouldn't swear to God, so I picked the next best thing) it's just about the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I'm not a vegetarian but I buy vegan. I'm against animal products for enviro/ethical reasons so I see every dollar put towards these industries as a vote of acceptance. if the big wigs already have their money/vote do they care whether or not I use their product or throw it away? I don't think so. if I have any say in what gets bought I'll make sure it's vegan but if the suffering has happened and been payed for that's a different story, I'll make a small (personal) good out of a terrible evil. as such I've got no problems with second hand leather etc. as long as I'm not supporting the machine.

in all honesty, this is partly a social decision as veganism can be awkward at times, especially in tasmania, and partly too an excuse because I have dismal willpower (smoker, potsmoker, borderline alcoholic).

I totally understand not wanting to have dead animal flesh in your mouth but somehow it never weirded me out.... or is it a matter of principal thing, eating meat is endorsing it as an individual?

I guess I have a bigger problem with factory farming than eating meat..

anyway, thanks for the rant, I don't want a number but I'm certainly subscribed.
