VT Deluxe Talkbass group purchase?

Capitalism, its pretty much where we get all our ideas.

I would say it is more in line with the growing trend of diminishing personal responsibility which is more socialism; but what do I know. I'm just a old redneck hillbilly. We have a saying here in the mountains, "I did not take him to raise." It means I will help him all I can as long as he is trying his best to help himself and stand alone. In the same light I guess I do not expect a retailer to watch my six; but, again, what do I know. :hiding:

Here's the thing, if its a NEWLY released item, which is sure to be in high demand, I doubt they'll go for it. I know I'm interested in replaced my VT Bass with one...

This does remind me of the current trend of youthful trend of selfish entitlement.

I say give 'em a chance to get thier re-tooling costs recovered, & THEN hit 'em w/ a group buy.!

...why should a company absorb the cost of your playing with it to see if you like it? Where did this concept come from?

It came from the retailers that offer that service. Do you think they lose money doing it, and that they're allowing themselves to be taken advantage of? They generate increased sales that more than offset the return rate, or they would discontinue the option of lengthy, "no questions asked" return periods.

The companies make more money, and the consumer gets a form of buyer protection that's especially important in the world of "sound shaping", and where there are few or no local options to try before you buy.

Hi Guys,

Just thought I would chime in here….

We honestly wish that we could offer a longer trial period but at our current size a 5 day return policy is the longest that we can extend our “trial period”. As we grow we will do our best to increase the length of our return policy to better benefit our customers. If you have any questions at all in regards to this policy please email me directly at [email protected].

Sincerely,
-bb

Another update:

We have more than the minimum 20 people committed, so we're good to go. I'm still working the timing out with Brandt - he's going to open this up for "group TB pre-purchase" from the folks who committed for a weeklong window. I will notify those of you who committed via PM.

Just a reminder - you're only on the "committed" list if you've PM'd me with your contact info and said "I'm in" or something similar. Folks who asked for details but did not reply past that PM exchange - you're not in yet.
