I'm guessing such a device would be VERY expensive. And would have to be custom made for the different types of basses and tuning knobs, etc. Probably not a good money maker from a business prospective

Not really. If it was integrated into a specific bass ground up build, it could work.

How about a bass stand that not only supports the bass while you play, but you can lean up against as well? No shoulder issues after a long night, play any bass you want, and you get that cool "bass player lean" without anything on stage to lean against.

How about a built-in stand that comes out like Tranformers?

I agree...Although the guys on the DB side have said it's not as hard as you would think and it sounds pretty good. Never have seen one in person...
