What did you learn today?

You might possibly, besides getting a shorter spring, be able to put a little fat washer in front of the string ball to give it a bit of distance. Some people have taken a ball off an old string and slid that down there in front of the new ball to accomplish the same thing.
That doesn't have any effect on the talking length of the string and won't affect intonation.

That 'toxic' is a sometimes poetic, echoic, mock heroic to-and-froic but does scan well, courts favor, one to savor, enjoy the flavor, in a plastic brain, and not a life sentence. The news is in. Give it time. Thank you Doctor Amen -

If you have one of the bent-plate type of bridges and you do this it will pull the string ball farther away from the saddle. This combined with a shorter spring may give just enough leeway to move the saddle back a bit for proper intonation.

On some saddles you may have to shorten the E intonation screw too.

I've seen where people put whole bars across the back of a bent-plate bridge to achieve this
on the entire string set.

What matters, when setting intonation, is the length from the saddle to the nut.
That bit of string sticking out the back of the bent plate does nothing for the intonation.

Yes. that's right. But according to your post you have nowhere to further go for intonation because your spring is max compressed.

If you are at this point and still have plenty of room on the string itself then you don't require it.

Sounds like you are going to have shorten your spring though.

But a lot of times when people are in your predicament, they have the saddle so far back it's now into the far dead end of the string, completely covered in silk and the squirly winding portion of the string.

I wish you had made that clear in your original post; now I feel bad about mine. Poor pitiful me.

Ah ok, but not quite:

I learned that despite Volodymyr Klitschko's recent, heartbreaking defeat (former super-heavyweight world champion) Ukraine still completely dominates boxing with several undefeated boxers across a few weight classes. Notably there's Oleksandr Usyk in cruiserweight, Oleksandr Gvozdyk in light heavyweight, and of course Vasyl Lomachenko in super featherweight.

I learned that at the local theatre complex you can get a free refill on your popcorn.

Wifey dragged me to a movie today and while I was waiting for her to emerge from the power room after the show, a guy sitting just down front of us was at the counter getting his mega-tubba-corn reloaded and re-buttered. It looked like a quart of butter went on after the fluffy corn goodness when in, and no currency was exchanged, cards swiped, or secret handshakes exchanged. Maybe he had a coupon? It looked like it was a free refill to me, but since we don't use popcorn I'm not versed in the traditions regards refills. Maybe it's just on the tubba-corn and drum-o-coke?

You don't use popcorn? How do you watch a movie, then?
