What's your one true "Forever Bass"?

Just curious. I have had many over the years...

My tastes are changing so much as I develop, it will take quite a while before I would know what that might be. I think everyone continually develops and refines their style, so I'd have a hard time envisioning anyone that would have a true FOREVER bass. Forever is long time!

I have two basses I can't see parting with. One is a 1956 (my birth year) Precision which I bought before prices went skyward.

The other is a mutt Precision that I put together (walnut body, Schecter all-rosewood neck, CS 62 pickup) that I've used just about every time I go to record. My go-to bass, my security blanket. It's my sound.

If I could only have one it would be my Custom Shop Peavey Cirrus. It was made for me in November of 2008. I have three other great basses (Reverend and Fender Jazz) but the Cirrus is number one.

Sorry I play too many styles of music to only have on forever bass, Need My old Pbass, Jbass, Carvin, JC Bass, and Sigma acoustic all depends on what gig I have at the time. I agree with the cat that said its not my spouse so I can have them all. What show have you been to where the guitarist only had 1 axe!!!

Yeah, something is going weird with the posts.

Yeah, besides not being able to like" any posts, every time I tried posting the pic of my Stingray, TB would tell me an error occurred and to try again later. I kept trying later like it suggested and I kept getting that message so I eventually gave up. But, apparently every time I tried, that message itself was an error and the pic got posted anyway.

So when I got up this morning I saw there were a bunch of posts I didn't see last night. I just deleted my duplicates and resumed liking new posts again.

My '98 Suhr era Fender Jazz. Bought it used, had it pretty near 20 years.
Because of the wide variability of Fender quality control, I kinda believe you have to find "your" Fender. This is mine.

All of my basses serve different purposes. As much as I love them, they're tools, and some of them serve very specific purposes that don't function as well in other scenarios.

That being said, I've been playing my Stingray the longest (22 years!), and it's simply the most comfortable. I can go a year without touching it, and when i pick it up again it still feels more natural than anything else.

Definitely my Cort Rithimic Jeff Berlin signature model. Not only does it sound and play fantastic, but Jeff signed the back of the headstock for me. It used to be owned by Neil Murray of Whitesnake too, funnily enough.

My Peavey Palaedium Jeff Berlin model is equally something I would never dream of selling. Just try finding another in this colour, in this condition! USA Peavey basses are fantastic.

Nordstrandt NP4A pickup

She weighs under 8 lbs and, having owned several upscale basses, I can authoritatively say she sounds and plays like a $2+K bass
