No way, I'd much rather pay money than get forcibly sodomized. I pay over on my taxes, in fact.
I don't buy the age thing. It boils down to experience. When I'm speaking with someone for the first time, they always end up asking me how old I am about 15 minutes into our conversation, and they are surprised to hear me say 22. The usually guess me for around 25. You can't put an age or a meter or a grade on experience. Either you have it or you don't.
My mother told me once that the only reason some kids consider themselves adults at 18 is because of Vietnam when they needed more bodies so they lowered the enlistment age to better serve the draft.
This could also explain why there are so many problems with alcohol in the military, because kids start drinking when they are 18 with kids who are 21 who have been drinking since they were 18 and never really came out of being just kids who sit in their barracks room all weekend drinking natty ice and playing video games. (breathe) But from what I've heard about the sandbox, once again, depending on EXPERIENCE you had, that could change a person; depending on if you were sitting in the air-conditioned TOC all day or out doing patrols and getting sand in your buttcrack and having to burn crap.
So, like Maki said, it's all about crap.
