Will 80' styles ever come back into style?

all this pointy guitar talk....well remember that most the 80's pointy shaped guitars may or may not have "disappeared" but there were tons 80's instruments that had no points whatsoever, and were regarded as some of the finest units made to date.

I notice that a lot of Alternative Bands start all wonky and librarian looking and by the 3rd CD and tour they've let their hair grow out, accumulated big stacks of amps, and found the joy of distortion. Just look at REM and U2....

I believe the new line of basses that Flea has put out have the 1980s bright color schemes. But the only bass I bought during the 1980s was a tobacco sunburst MusicMan Stringray ... which I still have and which is in my car right now, waiting for me to get off work and go to band practice!

Will pointy headstocks, hockey stick shaped headstocks, bright colors and wild designs on guitar/basses ever come back into style?
Some 80's style basses are becomming pretty dang trendy as of late. Especially short-scales. I've seen a few indy/hipstery bands rocking Jacksons and ESPs as of late, but obscure 80's style Japanese basses tend to be the hot commodities.

for many years I have collected 80's basses and have quite a few still, but my favorites are still the crackle finishes
my point is everyone forgot about them regardless of who made them. Most frown upon them as "not the norm". Most sell them relatively cheap as they are not very wanted items ( NOT YET ) Most think Japan-80's = automatic junk. Most are turned off by a pointy headstock.
Please continue this train of thought for years to come so I can continue to collect "everyone elses junk" and hold on to them until they become popular again.

no KJpollo, it came from a friend I traded last year. He lives in NC and has had it for many many years so unless he bought it off you long ago, nope, just another lavaCrackle.
I traded mine in at the late, once-great East Coast Music in Danbury CT in the very early 90's toward a Spector NS-2A. I was just wondering if my old axe somehow made its way to you.

One of my first basses was a "gtx" Jackson copy with snakeskin graphics, YAHH! lol,

the eighties ARE back. i see kids everywhere i go wearing tight jeans with studded belts and boys with long hair in their eyes. and the "new" music on the radio is BIG TIME eighties. entire songs stolen and new vocal tracks added. (or so it seems )
so I'm sure the pointy guitars will return if they haven't already.

I doubt it, the 80's was about having fun. Musicians are too uptight for something like that to come back.
yes and no, they were not "offered" as a color in any catalogs, but had been using that crackle as long as Kramer, ...no "specific" catalog color name for any crackle at least with Jackson, just the users naming it what they wanted.
I always thought these were REALLY friggin cool, and not really too much into the cheesy territory.
