You know you´re obsessed with bass when...

.... when you catch yourself playing air bass frequently
.... when you focus in on the bass line in most music you listen to
.... when your wife focuses on the bass line in all the music she listens to due to being around you
.... when your kids correct people who call your instrument a guitar with enthusiasm and a hint of annoyance
.... when you spend your lunch and prep periods at work on talkbass
.... when you slap the spacebar while typing... every time
.... when, despite playing keys since you were 5 (I'm 36 now), you only play the keys or piano at home when your wife asks you to since you'd rather play the bass
.... you have a wireless rig so you can keep practicing while you take a dump

...you're 16 and you spend the 3000$ you had been saving up for a car on a custom bass.

funny you said that. the first few hundred bucks i saved toward my custom bass i got from my 16th birthday- and the last hundred or so i got was from my 17th birthday. it was a full year of litterally having $4 "spending money" at a time, saving every penny of every paycheck. idk how it worked out to be a full year to the day, from birthday to birthday..kinda weird. anyway, i managed to save $3300..never even considered putting it towards a car though...

and that bass still isint done..sigh. :rollno:

When you're 18 and your friends are all saving up for a car, every penny you earn goes into saving up for a Sadowsky or a new amp.

You read this thread and think "Damn why have I never tried that?".

You constantly think about breaking the armrests of your deskchair just to make it more comfortable while playing bass.

While checking the TV guide and see a program on Discovery named "bass adventures" or something similar, and you switch the channel because you think there might always be a chance that it's not about fish.
