What Kind of Bass Guitar do you Play (Re-loaded)? BE SURE TO REVOTE!

I got several basses, 4,5 and 6 string fretted and fretless (5 string fretless is acoustic), but I can say my main bass is the 5 string fretted, at least the one I play most of the time. I'd like to spend more time on the 6 string fretless but the bands I'm playing with need a "fretted" sound.

You lucky one! Exactly three years ago I had to pay about €1.500 for the same bass (left handed version), but mine was from 1996 (Bartolini PU's, JAN I and 7 pieces neck). I feel lucky too. Enjoy your baby!

Gene Simmons New Cort Axe Bass???

He used some Pedullas and Spectors (besides his model he played from late 70's 'till early 90's) during middle/late 80's along with some Staccato basses and some other stuff. I guess he stopped using other basses when he started working on his Punisher bass (early 90's, Revenge album era)...

    Billy Sheehan collection

Good morning. I'd like to introduce you the Invalid Link Removed website. This is not a commercial site but a showcase of my private collection of CD's from Billy Sheehan and related artists. There are currently about ninety titles and for each title I have included information that I found...

I agree with you. Unluckily I'm lefty and I live in Italy, so it's pretty hard for me to find an Alembic bass, and I can't afford a new one. I've been lucky enough to find a second (or third, or fourth) hand 6 string Elan. Even if it's really hard to play (broadneck ain't comfortable to me) it's...

The Official Warwick Club (Part 4)

In 2001 I ordered a new 5 string Thumb from a music store in Milano and they had to orderer it directly from the factory in Germany since they don't have it in store. When I received the bass I found out it was from 1996, so it's not so uncommon for Warwick to craft some unordered models and...

    The Fretless Club (Part 2!)

Pretty weird thing, that led. I can't understand the reason to have it light when the bass is plugged, I don't find it very useful. And it shortens your battery's life. Can you control it with that little switch? The bass still looks great anyway. Nice one.

Would you buy another bass that looks similar to your other basses?

I have three Warwick Thumbs (4 string fretless, 5 string fretted and 6 string fretless). I don't mind they look similar, I just care about the "feeling" of the instrument (and I think they looks cool, of course). If you enjoy playing that bass, just go and buy it and never mind if it looks like...

The Official Warwick Club (Part 4)

Well, sound come from the hands (first) and from the instrument itself, but as Doman said try some other amplifier before selling the Dolphin. If you want a fender sound you need a fender bass, but if you're looking for something else (less specific) you can try to get it with you bass.

The Official Warwick Club (Part 4)

Why you want to sell it? It's a pretty rare instrument, I guess you may regret someday.

Gene Simmons New Cort Axe Bass???

Well, I don't think there's nothing wrong in doing something for money till you don't steal it. And anyone is free to sell a piece of wood for $5'000. No one is forced to buy it. I played in a band and we mainly did gigs for free. Where's that band now? I don't know.

Bassists who are also lead singers?

Anyone said Roy Estrada? He used to sing lead sometimes while in Frank Zappa band. And as far as I know, Michael Anthony was bass player and lead singer in his pre Van Halen band, while Jeff Pilson (from Dokken) has been lead vocalist in several musical projects (including Dokken). Some says he...

I forgot Mick Karn with his solo career. Even the lovely Stuart Hamm did lead vocal on some of his solo CD's.
