Yeah, that's pretty much the vibe I'm getting. After watching some guitar demos on YouTube, I seem to prefer the sound of the Standard over the newer Compact versions. Haven't seen a good bass comparison yet though.

One thing people seem to forget is that there is more music being released now than ever before. If you can't find new music that you like, you clearly aren't trying hard enough :)

Officially joined the Broughton club today when my PLL clone arrived in the mail. Wow! Craziest pedal I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

Best recorded tone I've ever gotten was my signal split 3 ways: Tone Hammer, Darkglass VMT, and SolidGoldFX Beta. Play with a jazz bass with every knob on full, blend those together and BOOM! I have since bought a second Tone Hammer and I can't wait to see how they would compliment each other.

I have a 5 string Dingwall AB1 and it definitely feels like most of the 3" of extra length is near the bridge. Hitting a low C doesn't feel much different than playing it on my Ibanez SR705.

Rotosound Swing 66, died fast and physically hurt to play after about 30 minutes. Labella Deep Talkin' flats as well, but that's probably because they are the first and last set of flats I've ever bought.
