    fEARful cabs....whats the deal???

when comparing a 15/6 to other cabs i would say it beats a 4x10 no problem at all, anything bigger than a 4x10 is what i consider to be very big and awkward cab (and very heavy) so when comparing big cabs (larger than 4x10) to fearfuls you should scale the fearful up also to the dual woofer...

    Fearful thread part 15 (/6?)

thanks for the input Mark, just looked into it on the fearful website, extending LF response comes at the price of lower sensitivity, i will leave them as per the designs

    Fearful thread part 15 (/6?)

hi codger, i dont know the weight of my 15 subs, but! i can carry both at the same time,, its awkward to do but the weight is not a problem factor. my band use a behringer cx crossover, crossed at around the 100 HZ, sometimes a lil higher, we are using a power amp that delivers 650 watts per...

    Fearful thread part 15 (/6?)

hi fellow fearfullers, not posted here for some time, ive gone back to skinny strings, my fearful 15subs still being put to good use tho, PA duty, they have impressed fellow band members so much so that they are gonna get another 2 15subs built soon :) i think its worth mentioning that my...

    Eminence Delta 12LFA?

If you like the sound if the 2 LF drivers then stick with it. Although its far from ideal in my opinion, I'm assuming they are connected to the amp without a crossover in the circuit which (I think I'm correct in saying this) would result in getting quite a bump in frequency response in the...

    fEARful users Outside America?

i know that lean business in the UK ship drivers worldwide Invalid Link Removed to use any other driver other than the recommended kappalite in a fearful would result in it not being right, its not recommended, and not supported by Greenboy or the fearful community

Need help choosing the correct/best replacement speaker!

ahh the old mixing cabs v identical pairs debate again.... i got a mate who asked me advise about adding a second cab, and WOW,,, he listened and bought a second peavey 410 TVX, now i dont believe these cabs to be amazing, good value for money, yes, but 2 of them!! very nice indeed,, far...

    fEARful speaker question

rpsands is right, to deviate from the plans would have unpredictable results, unless you have the know how to model the delta's in the enclosure, the fearful enclosures are designed around the kappalites, then there is the passive crossover design which is also designed around the kappalites in...

fEARful part 13: the bad luck's done, son

to answer that depends on the bassist/band in question, personally i would think that would be plenty, others feel a single 15/6 is more than enough, i use a 2 x 15 fearful setup that has never run out on me, always enough, then theres a dual 151566 rig in use. i'd be very surprised to hear...

Pluging A Power Amp Into A Bass Cab

i'm using a BBE BMAX preamp (the bit with the knobs on it, your tone controls etc), this is used for my DI to the front of house mixer and output to a PA power amp (in mono mode) to drive my fearful cabs, power amps these days can be quite a cheap way of getting alot of power behind you, im...

fEARful part 13: the bad luck's done, son

IMO it would sound ok/nice BUT!! to get the best out of these cabs you really need more power, if you can push 400 watts or more into an fearful you will get a whole lot more CLEAN bottom end

    1x12'' + 1x15'' cab . .. is it possible ?

if you want to build your own cab i would suggest you read up ALOT, its not as simple as building a box and putting random drivers in it, why do you wish to go for a 15" AND A 12"? if you want good lows and mids why not try a 15 (or 12) with a 6! check out [Invalid or Expired Link...

How do I get cat pee out of grille cloth?

mentioned this thread to my better half, after a bit of a giggle she typed the following................ A damp sponge first to wet the grill, then pat it dry to get rid of any excess. Then use diluted white vinegar with water on a sponge and dab that on top, then just leave to dry. The vinegar...

Finding the right speakers for my rig.

or the 4x10 could run at 8 ohms and the 2x10 at 16 ohm, (as suggested earlier) effectively 3 pairs of 8 ohm drivers wired in series, not sure on the final ohmage rating but would guess somewhere around 5.3 ohms?? all the drivers would be working the same then

    Extension Speaker/ Add another

1 question, why? a 20 watt practice amp is just that, for practice purposes, i fail to see what you may gain by this exercise tbh, no offense intended whatsoever. just adding a cab to the internal driver will drop the ohmage of the amp and get more watts, but that may well over cook it too...

    Roland Cube 100 ???

basicly, this is my non technical understanding, sound is air movement, more cone area moves more air thus more volume. the cube is what it is, suitable for coffee house gigs, quieter bar gigs, home practice, controlled band rehearsals etc etc, its only 100 watts at the end of the day, IMO it...

    Roland Cube 100 ???

i can answer this as i have a roland CB100 cube... firstly the cube is a great lil bass amp with some really great and usable sounds, for 100 watts it is great.. the extension cab feature IMO isn't as great as it seems tho, yes alone you get 100 watts, with the extension speaker plugged in...

    Peavey Amp Help!

matching cabs FTW, i used to use 1 of those peavey 1/15 loaded with a BW 350 watt driver, sounded ok on its own, BUT when combining it with a 2x10 the result was less than satisfying, i believe the cabinet was the same as yours, just loaded with a different driver. i found that the 115 on its...

    3015/3015LF replacements?

if the box design calls for a 3015LF then use the 3015LF, if you use a different driver chances are the box is wrong for it, as for the delta's,,, they have a much lower Xmax, the above point applies again, random box stuffing is unpredictable at best, IMO leave the design to those who...

    Behringer iNUKE + Bass Vamp

    fEarful 15/6 Mods??

totally agree, each to their own, but if i were looking for a stadalone 1x15 i wouldnt use a LF driver, maybe the standard 3015 driver in a cab designed for it would be a better way to go. as for the x-over or 6" blowing... most unlikely i think, the CBG designs are highly rated components...

    fEarful 15/6 Mods??

a 15 sub on its own without the crossover isnt too nice tbh, the 3015LF has a nasty 2khz bump, rolls off quite steaply after that, i know this because ive tried it when i was waiting for delivery of my x-over components, a 15sub with the low pass crossover installed is very wooly on its own, IMO...

    best bass head survey??

i have to be honest, i am very disapointed with some of the jumped up responses so far on here, i asked for opinions, of course the subject is subjective, there is no such thing as the all time definitive BEST AMP, but there are reasons that all the amps mentioned so far are the best choice for...

    fEarful 15/6 Mods??

if height is the issue (concern that the stack will be too tall) go for a 15sub + 15/6, another option could be 2 x 15subs (stacked on their sides) + a head case, dont just miss out the 6" driver, thats where your clarity and definition comes from, maybe miss out the horn driver, its surprising...

    15/66 4ohm fearful ????

any deviation from the fEARful plans would result in not being a true fEARful, if you want a 4ohm fEARful go for a dual woofer design. Hartke 3500 vs Hartke 5500

i tried 1 of these hartke heads for the 1st time tonight at rehearsal rooms, i forgot my amp head so hired a AH3500, i had my cabs, fEARful 15sub with a Headcase for the 6" mid driver, i was shocked! it was really, REALLY good! loud and punchy, plenty of the lows, very impressed
