how fast will this eat a battery?

I have one of those power inverters that I can plug into my cars cigarette lighter and run 110/120 volt electronics. How fast would a small amp like a fender rumble 15 or a line 6 15 watter eat up my car battery? I'll have to check under the hood to see what its cold cranking amps are but I'm...

    GK + Trace Elliot questions

Hi, I'm looking tat two rigs for gigging (I already own them both) So my question is simple, which amp would you use to dial in the cleans, growl, punch, what ever term you prefer. I'm planning on running them both on stage and EQ'ing each for its strongest point. I've gigged the Trace rig...

Got my ultimate rig (for my needs)

As some of you know I have been using a vintage Trace Elliot rig, RAH130 with the single 15" TE cab, this is the original stuff made in the UK before they sold to Gibson and now it seems PV has them. Anyhow I just picked up a GK MB115 33lbs of tonal bliss. Of course both amps have their own...

In my first band with a keyboard player...

I haven't met the keyboard player yet. This is a new band of all seasoned players from around the area. Two guitarists/vocalists. The keys player also plays guitar on the songs with no keys and the other guitarist takes over lead vocals/frontman position. The one comment I heard last night makes...

I want to make a very small clean boost, help?

As the title says I want to make a very small clean boost, I don't need much boost, just a few db's would be enough. Anyone have any ideas? Note: this is going inside an acoustic/electric bass, the pickup is just a bit weak and the guitar isn't worthy of expensive electronics.

    acoustic amp EQ question

I have an acoustic amp I use for at home practice, its a B100. I was wondering where on the tone controls would be considered flat EQ. I've tried the tone controls all the way off, and at the middle position, neither really sound like a flat EQ, any ideas?

How far do you drive for practice?

I had to ask this as I keep getting bands wanting me to audition that are 30-60 minute drives (one way) to practice. I'm talking 30-60 minutes of highway driving. I have right in my ads where I live and even mention that I'm not looking to drive too far for practice since winter is coming and I...

Auditions, how do you detect the drunks/drug addicts?

I have to ask this question because the last two bands I played with swore up and down when I talked to them that the drinking was minimal and there was no hard drug use. If I could pick any musicians to play out with it would be Jimi Hendrix and Kirk Hammett on guitars, me on bass. Rick Wakeman on keys, John Bonham on drums and Paul Rodgers and Dio on vocals. Of course I may add some sax, harmonica or other things but they would be outside the main band....

Bad Company, over looked and forgotten?

I was just watching a live Bad Co. concert recored in 2008 and even though the music was rather simple it all had a great groove to it. The leads were nothing spectacular, the bass was solid yet rather easy to play, yet the music still had something that grabbed me. They played mostly their top...

got really lucky mixing cabs and speakers

I sold my Ampeg SVT210HE and replaced it with a cabinet that was a small combo (Acoustic B100) I pulled the 4 ohm speaker out of the Acoustic B100 and ordered a Celestion Truvox 8 ohm, 250 watt, not realizing it is sold as a PA speaker. Its lighter than the Ampeg 2x10 and it sounds incredible...

Old Squire bass VS new one, better or worse?

    Acoustic (brand) amp question

I just picked up an acoustic B100 combo. I was reading the owners manual and it says it is full power as a combo, the internal speaker is 4 ohms.
