    NBD Custom Lakland content

So… this happened today… There isn’t another one in the world like it. That Lakland Basses neck with that GORGEOUS top and the modern Gospel/Jazz tones I was looking for. Like a Lakland and an F-Bass BN5 Deluxe had a baby together. A really beautiful baby! If you like the specs: 55-AJ, Ash...

Who's excited for the new Aguilar SL410

This guy! TH500 with a pair of SL112s or a 4 ohm SL410 depending on the room/gig. 800 watts, 49 lbs, great looking cabinet too! Obviously, I'll want to hear it before deciding for sure, but I'm certainly not buying until I get a chance to try it out. Already have the TH500 and SL112s, BTW

    SOLD MarkBass Big Bang

Amp is like new, in a brand new Big Bang bag ($70 bag), never gigged. Just got it in a trade and decided it's not the one for me. Bought a ToneHammer 500, so no longer available for trade. May consider SL112, DB112, or LowDownSound 12" loaded cabs as trade. Will sell for $525 shipped Con US...

Über 410 - is my Streamliner 600 enough power?

Like the title states, will the Streamliner 600 push enough power to the 4 ohm Uber 410 to get to the good tones or am I going to want the 900 watt Streamliner or Shuttle? I can't see playing anywhere that 600 watts into a 4 ohm 410 isn't loud enough, so this is more a how much power does this...

    MTD Kingston question

There's a fretless Kingston 5 on the bay that I'm high bidder on, but I can't find it on the MTD a Kingston website. It's got the MM/J pickups, but it's passive. What model is it?

Custom Jazz 5-string - who to order from

I know what I want - 35" scale, one rosewood board, one maple. On the rosewood, I want Ash body, sunburst finish, tortoiseshell pick guard, and on the maple, Ash body, clear finish, red tortoiseshell pick guard. Nordy pickups, Audere pre on both. I've narrowed it down to: Lakland - probably...

Links in mobile app always go to same thread

No matter what, if I click on a link to another thread (typically in classifieds when the seller links to the previous for sale ad) it links to some ad for a Cremona Double bass. Doesn't do it from my home computer. Only on the mobile app.

Which Fuzz Pedal for Chris Brown's Fine China?

My R&B band is adding a bunch of newer material to the set list and this tune was on the list. A, KILLER bass line!!!! Took me a bit to get it down. B. I don't use effects - aside from envelope filters occasionally, a touch of compression sometimes and a little chorus when I play fretless - and...

I have a feeling this is going to be a landslide, but Uber 212 - new Neox212T - used, rat fur edition Focus 410 - new The new Uber and used NEOX are the same price (within a few bucks and around $600 shipped), and I have a line on the 410 for under $400 shipped. Skyline AJ 55 or 55-02...

Trying to decide between the two. I play mostly funk, Gospel and R&B with a few rock gigs thrown in for good measure. I'm leaning towards the AJ 55 in red with a maple board - Bass Central has one with maple. If I get it, I'll probably put an Audere pre in it, which will make cost a wash. Any...

    Audere classic 4-band

I'm going to be putting one of these in every bass I buy from here on out! The Conklin GT7 is a terrific playing bass and sounds pretty darn good out of the box, but when the stock preamp went out I did a bunch of research and ended up ordering the Audere. This bass now sounds like a $5000 custom!

    What would you do?

I have played with a singer/guitarist off and on for a couple of years now. Basically, he books gigs where he needs a band and calls me, a drummer and lead guitarist, sometimes a keyboardist if he can afford it. Sends a set list and basic charts and we just show up and jam. I played with him a...

    Great gig tonight!

Got a call from my old lead singer 3 weeks ago wanting to put together a band for a one time show. Ended up with me, a keyboard player I know, a drummer he knows and him singing. No guitard... Had 2 short rehearsals and threw some stuff together - blend of old and new R&B, anything from old...

9 months into this new R&B project, and just like that... It's over. Need (okay want) 7 string set with a wound F

Hat are my options? I'm a big fan of DR Hi Beams, but they don't make a set and their individual string in the correct gauge isn't wound. I've currently got SITs on and the F isn't wound either and the tonal difference is noticeable. Who makes sets with a wound F that will get me in the ball...

    New preamp for GT7

Bartolini 4.5 pre should arrive today! Looks to be a direct swap with some minor pickup lead soldering and desoldering the included output jack so I can use the stock locking neutrik jack. Best ipad apps

So far, my favorite apps are talk bass (of course), drop box, good reader, music stand, set list maker, yahoo fantasy football 2011, pandora, Mypad, and the ESPN apps. Dealing with Borderline Personality Disorder

My wife and I are fostering a 17 year old mother of an 18 month child. Need some uptempo song ideas for R&B band

We're playing a mix of old school R&B (Marvin, Al Greene, Spinners, etc...) and newer R&B (Usher, Craig David, Marc Broussard), but have noticed most of our tunes fall into the slow dance or sit back and listen kind of stuff and we need to incorporate some more uptempo, danceable stuff. Staying...

New (to me) GT-7 thanks to RickC

Got my GT-7 today:hyper: I know, I know; no pics, no bass. They're in his for sale thread. Excellent packaging! Anyway, pulled it out of the case and it's not as heavy as everybody complains about. Then again, I was playing a G&L L2500 which isn't exactly a lightweight. So, what to do with...

    Strings for Conklin GT7

What strings are you guys putting on these? I've heard good things about the...
