i tend to sit over the bridge pickup so its easier to anchor my thumb, however i do prefer in between the 2 pickups. i've always thought about buying an anchor, but i'm always concerned about drilling into my instrument.

From what I've heard the geddy lee's pickup spacing calls for a unique pickguard. I'm not sure if it's the same pickguard as a 70's spaced jazz bass, but it's definitely different than standard jazz bass. basically, if its an MIJ 70s jazz bass pickguard, probably. Any other bass, probably not.

Lol. This. But just look around for a GEDDY LEE pickguard not a jazz bass pickguard there are several parts stores that carry them.

Also, you need to buy a pickguard specifically made for a geddy lee. A jazz pickguard won't be the right size.

As a fender devout, I have never picked up a gibson I liked. they all feel like awkward blocks of wood. I love how they look ( i want an SG, thunderbird, semihollow) but none of them ever feel right. What do you like about your SG?
