    Stingray 5 single H question

I am considering a Stingray 5 single H and play mostly country, southern rock. I currently gig with a EBMM 25th Anniversary HH. I am concerned about having enough low end. Anyone using a single H. All opinion are welcomed.

    Genz Benz Uber Bass 600W 2x12 vs Left-facing Genz Benz NEOX-212T 600W 2x12

You can't go wrong with either the Uber or Neox, Genz don't make bad gear. I can't think of anything out there I would trade for my current 112T and 212T driven by a ShuttleMax 12.0. I rarely use them together, the 212T gets 90% of my use.

Genz Benz ShuttleMAX 9.0 Now A Reality

To me it would seem that all this is dependant on other factors, such as the bass? I've never heard two basses that sound exactly the same. So I feel the instrument plays a huge role in the sound you get. Most of my controls on my ShuttleMax 12 are never touched. I have them set not far from...

Genz Benz ShuttleMAX 9.0 Now A Reality

Maybe in a year or two, but my ShuttleMax 12.0 delivers everything I've needed and more. Twice the power I was running 30 years ago from my old Peavy rig that done a great job and still will............ I just don't see the need for more power. Even when not having PA support, the 12.0 has been...

    Peavey 215BW speakers

Not sure if this helps but I bought a Peavy rig in 1981 with 2-15 BW's. Also the next year two of my friends bougt them as well. I still have mine in excellant condition. In that time frame all the BW's I ever seen in any enclosure had shiny bright metal dust covers on them. I never seen one...

Why so many folks selling Shuttle 9.0s?

I can't say anything on 9.0, but my 12.0 ShuttleMax and 212T Neox does all I need. Every now and then I'll bring along the 112T Neox , more for show than anything. It gets used in small venues and does well for me. Sometimes I think my rig don't sound right, different rooms different...

    Tuning down?

First off, yep I knew that was down the neck, thanks for catching that error! Well I guess I'll get used to it if I end up making the cut with this band. How do you go about getting properly tuned. I'm not sure my tuner will tune in steps, I think I remember reading it does. Boss TU-2 ?
  14. coastie72

    Tuning down?

I was watching a video of them playing and trying to play along and found I had to play one fret up the neck towards the headstock to be in tune. So I assume that would be a half step.

    Tuning down?

Actually, this band does primarily Classic Rock. If I understand correctly they play the entire gigs this way. It's sort of confusing to me as to why.

    Tuning down?

Why do some bands tune down. I have an upcoming rehearsal with a band that say's they tune down. Can someone explain why they would do this and what if any are the benifits?

    No drummer?

I have been invited to play in a band with no fulltime drummer? Sometime they use one, but mostly conga's? They play variety music 60's through current. Beach, Classic, Southern Rock, R&B? I've never played in a band without a drummer, opinions please :hmm:

    Best all in one cab??

Genz Benz 212T Neox would be my suggestion, best cabinet I have ever had and I have yet to play a gig that I didn't get compliments on the sound. Just my opinion. Slides easily into the back seat of my Taurus with room for a passenger. 50Lbs.

    I have no clue.....

I can't tell from the picture, not close enough, I can see that it has the Black Widow speaker which is great. It appears to be a 15" speaker. It is either a bass or keyboard amp. If it says TKO or TNT on it is a bass cabinet for certain. It could also be a Combo 300?

    Genz Benz 410T-XB2 opinions?

Just my opinion, but you can't go wrong with Genz Benz gear. Every cabinet model is going to have different voiceing, but I've never heard one I didn't like. Good luck!

Help me to choose a new 1x 12" cabinet

I have a 212T NEOX and just ordered a 112T NEOX yesterday for more portability in smaller settings. You just can't go wrong with Genz Benz!!!! Like someone said above, the design of the NEOX cabinet adds amazing bottom while not sacrificing the upper frequencies. I am constantly showing my 212T...

    Car Subwoofer as a Cabinet?

I got one in a package deal off craigslist along with a 2x10 Peavy cabinet, and the guy just wanted me to take the car sub, it is a 15". It is not what you want for a bass, no doubt. Paid $40.00 for both. Peavy cabinet sounds great for what it is.

Shuttle Max 12 users - what cab(s) are you using?

I use mine with the 212T Neox and I have yet to feel like I needed more. It's light, slides right in the backseat of my Ford Taurus or the trunk, kicback wheels and garners rave reviews ;) I am actually looking to buy a 112T for smaller gigs, plus if I should ever feel the need it will stack...

Genz Benz ShuttleMax 12.0 rack mounted?

Has anyone rack mounted their 12.0 head that has any pictures? I have been looking at a Gator brand rack because they are light. I don't want to put a 7lb head in a 25lb rack case. My only reason is to have better protection for the head on stage! If I could anchor it to my 212T NEOX I wouldn't...
