Yeah I tried multiple settings on the controls. Wiggled em up and down and all around. If I crank the volume on the amp all I hear is a fuzzy distorted octaver type of effect, but still very low output for how much the amp and pedal are cranked up.

Hello all. Recently I acquired a DOD FX32 Meatbox off the 'bay. Plugged her into an old Kustom amp with a 2x15 cabinet and woaaaaaah the walls are shaking! Awesome. Didn't have much time to play around so I packed it up and left it on my desk. I come back the next day, plug it in and.... nothing...

I said the same thing with the 25bxt, "it's only 25 watts..." But trust me, it's Orange and they're louder than you might think. If you have a guitar shop locally with either one I would go and play it for yourself.

I recommend buying either the Orange Crush 25bxt or 50bxt. They're both under 500 bucks and plenty loud. I have the 25bxt and it is more than loud enough for small jams and even gigs. The tone is real punchy and aggressive.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks. That's just the way older musicians are I've noticed (except for a select few..), why should they learn any new method or technique when they've gone their whole life using one that's been successful for them?

Check out the blue sky by strymon This pedal makes beautiful sounds! I have yet to try it on bass though.

For me, Jaco is to the electric bass what Lafaro is to the upright. I love his playing on Elsa from the Explorations album. The interplay between Evans and LaFaro is nothing short of beautiful.

I have the Orange 50 Watt model. When you crank that sucker you get a whole lot of volume out of just that, and I've used it to fill up a small bar before (not through the PA, just out of my amp). I would definitely think the 100BXT is good to go for small gigs.

My orange CR50BXT is all I need! It wasn't terribly cheap, but it's LOUD and allows me to be heard over guitarists and their half stacks.

As a kid I literally walked up every single fret on my bass saying the note names out loud until I knew where every note on the instrument was. I was inspired by Jaco's father who told him to learn all the notes on the fingerboard. There probably was a faster way for me to do it, but nonetheless...

I'm pretty content with my Sony MDR-7506 headphones. They do tend to bleed, but I still like them for practicing. I paid about $100 US for mine.

I think that's the My Foolish Heart rehearsal tape you're referring to from Pieces of Jade. You're right about them being on the same wavelength though. It's a very awesome tape to listen to.
