I just started myself. I’m slow. But slow and steady, little bits at a time and you will see steady improvement. I got some Carol Kaye material and it is awesome.

Do you read bass clef? That’s a good start in my opinion. Listen to some of the masters, Duck Dunn comes to mind, and pay attention to what they do. I loved Duck’s style, very repetitious and really outlines the chords.

Is there any way the drummer had personal problems going on? Or a medical issue? I admit, it seems weird that the others didn’t at least address the situation with drummer. Like “ sorry, but he’s got severe diarrhea or something”

I did the same on my Jazz. Instead of soldering extension wires on pickups, I went to the source itself and promptly ruined a pickup!

Fender Elite Jazz. Never had active electronics before, and wasn’t fond of them. When the cheap input jack (weak point of this Bass) went, I ripped out the active electronics and went passive. My crappy solder job (I’m blind in one eye, and bad sight in the other) made for a not so nice sounding...

I agree totally. I had never tried flats, so I took a huge gamble ($70 or so gamble ) and got TI Jazz Flats. I’m sold. I don’t see any reason to change

I bought an elite Jazz. Hate the active electronics. Put a pre-wired Emerson Jazz control set on it. Plugged the unused jack on the end with a carriage bolt and the unused toggle switch hole with a plastic grommet. Odd looking ? Sure. But it’s mine

I agree, return it. If it isn’t for you, it isn’t for you. Some people abuse the generous return policy by sampling over and over until by happenstance get it right. That in my opinion, isn’t fair.
