I'm interested in this Jazz Bass, but I don't know what it is. The listing is written as "Fender PP ACTIVE JAZZ BASS MN OLP Tobacco Burst", but I can't find any real info on this, and the vendor is notorious for mis-identifying guitars and basses. I can't see any serial number, "made in" script...
This OLP has been gone through and revitalized. The pickup is a Seymour Duncan SMB-4A alnico pickup for a warmer tone. The preamp is an EMG 2-band BTS. The bridge a Guyker EBMM clone. It is sturdy and give the bass so much sustain. The cavities are all shielded. A spot for the battery was routed...
This outdoor light shows close to the true color of my new (to me) OLP 4-string fat humbucker bass.
I can only play primitive I-IV-V 12-bar blues so I love a blue bass, my 2nd blue bass and my 2nd OLP (Officially Licensed Products) bass.
It’s an official clone, mostly in its shape, to the...
First off. The wiring looks godawful. I got it free and I ****love**** the sound of this thing but the guts look really shoddy. It is an OLP Stingray (licensed re aesthetics, neck, design **through** Ernie ball. Officially. But they (Ernie ball support) were not helpful , and OLP is now...
Hi there.. I’m newbie..
I just got a used bass (OLP MM3) that have been modified to have the same electronic configuration as EBMM Sringray HH by previous owner using 2 GnL L2500 passive pickups (neck & bridge), 3 band stingray 35 preamps, and 5-way lever switch (i believe its not a super...
Hi. I’m a guitarist who plays bass on my one-man band records (nice of ya’ll to let me in here…;) I’ve been doing this for over a decade, but I’m still definitely a bass noob.
This is my bass, a $300 OLP MusicMan clone.
OLP MM2 4-String Bass Guitar, Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray, Music Man...
I have an olp stingray copy that I might repair it has a pickup that has a volume for each coil I was wondering what pickup replacement would work with this model
Here's another project I've had sitting around for a bit and don't have time to finish!
This OLP MM3 5-String body, neck, bridge and pickguard bundle is Used but in Good Condition. It has a few small dings on the body edges and a few fingerboard scrapes, but nothing major and nothing...

Folks,
A bad shim and a reckless owner led to the bass developing a ramp at the neck. Any ideas as to how a ramp in the neck can be removed?

Thank you!
Hello,
I want to upgrade the pickup in my 2005 OLP MM with this:
Aguilar DCB-M5 5-string M-Style Pickup
However, I'm not sure if it will fit properly. Anyone with experience in upgrading OLP basses, please chime in and share your knowledge. I'd hate to buy this and show up at my local luthier...
I sold a bike yesterday so money was hot in my pocket.
Loyalty Pawn #3 has a fretless Yamaha 4-string I keep trying to buy but only one pup works.
I had zero intention to buy a 5iver since 4 strings seem too many already for me.
I've always loved that MM humbucker sound and the Official...
I just bought an old OLP bass; it's in great shape. I tried to adjust the action but the smallest hex key I have is still slightly too big. Does anyone know specific what size is needed for these basses?
So have any of you out there upgraded your OLP to work and sound like an actual EBMM?
I just had a NBD and picked up one from Craigslist.
I am loving it, and everything works and sounds great. Gigged with it and only struggled with how the knobs were configured. The current configuration...
Aight so i have the opportunity to buy an OLP StingRay copy, which I know doesn’t sound exactly like a stingray (passive not active n other poopie), but I was wondering if anyone who has used these basses has found them to be too treble-heavy? Whenever I’ve heard a stingray I’ve thought it was...
Hello Bassman and Basswoman,
Option 1:
I have been playing my OLP MM2 for years now (mostly in my own room) and it is clear to me that certain parts are definitely budget/in need of an upgrade.
I need new machine heads and nut, because they are flat out wearing out (bad quality probably). And...
Near mint condition, plays and sounds really good. I dont play it so no need to have it sitting. I don't play it because im in a tribute band and play Thunderbird style basses. 2 vol, 1 for each pickup. Shipping will be $60 via fedex. No case.

Another project I am working on that I would like to document is this OLP 4-string stingray copy I got in a trade from craigslist. The guy I got it from was a real idiot (he tried to convince me that the bass was worth more because he'd "never seen a pickup like that before" which means it must...
Just picked up an olp stingray. Wasn't looking for one but price was great. I played a real ray once, sounded good so I'd like to get this bass in the same neighborhood as a real ray.
I know a lot about this stuff but NOT when it comes to the MM stuff. I have no experience. So, what would you...
So I recently bought an OLP bass used for real cheap and wanted to mod it into something cool. I went out on the internet looking for recommendations of what I should get and I found Nordstrand recommended. So I ordered the 5.2MM pickup along with the 2B+ preamp to turn it into the 70s style...
I've recently come into an OLP Sting-a-Ree, and a TB'r was gracious with a nice pre for it. Really woke it up... now I've run into a Bartolini MMC p'up with a Bart pre for it. It came out of a Tobias Growler, and it's pretty complex. I'm sure all that gut-werks isn't going to fit into that...
Hi all. Looking at a pretty beat OLP MM at a pawn shop(missing PG, one busted tuning key). Wanted to know if standard EBMM guards will fit and if the tuners are the same application. Plans are to gut the sucker and put in some good guts, strip/repaint, and play the snot out of it.

I've had this bass for several years now (in orange finish though), so it's already a bit used but I was thinking of putting a seymour duncan alnico humbucker on it to make it closer to a stingray and see basically if...
Hi Guys,
I have recently decided to put a new pickup in one of my old basses that I would hardly play.
The pickup I put in made the bass feels sooo much more even and solid. However... now I am wanting to patch up some more "issues" the bass has- as now I am wanting to play it more and more...
Ok, so this is weird. I removed the neck from my OLP to lube the truss wheel as it was hard to turn. Mind you it was butted up against the heel. I removed it, lubed it with vaseline and then tried to screw it back on. But now it does not screw in all the way. It sticks out significantly. See...
Got one cheep in a really cool blue, no pickguard. Plays nice, I like the neck. The p'up is pretty darned lackluster though- my Epiphone Blackbird with one pickup has a ton more gain and punch. I don't expect to get a Music Man out of it, but anyone have a recommendation for a better passive...
Hey guys. I just picked up my bass after 10 years and the pick guard is warped outwards. I found a couple ways of fixing it, but its celluloid on a plastic back so I'm a little worried about it catching fire. I know using the sun would be safe but I was hoping for something a little quicker. I...
Would love to get my hands on one of these, would certainly throw a finders fee, like maybe 100 bucks, if someone locates one in very good shape at a reasonable price
I'm looking for a chrome musicman style bass bridge for my OLP 4 string in good condition. I'm looking for the one with the shorter plate that has the side bolts (screws, side bolts and bolt inserts included). Similar to the one in the attached pic. If you have one you're willing to sell, PM...
I'm eying up a Tony Levin sig OLP on Reverb going for $399.
There are numerous threads in the forums comparing the regular OLP line to the first SUBs when they came out (that sounded like they were pricier, I don't know - this EBMM/SMM nomenclature is wack) but many people reviewed and loved...
Howdy!
Recently purchased a new bass, but only recently got it to great shape. I've been curious about a 5 string and this one showed up for the right price. It was in surprisingly good shape--very minor scratches/love marks, but it did need a few minor repairs/updates and cleaning...
Hey guys I have an olp 5 that I am selling. I picked this up from my buddy. It is light for an olp right at 9lbs this is one of the deals where you never know what quality your going to get. We'll the quality on this is excellent. It has been upgraded with the seymour duncan preamp that matches...
